Picked up this 1979 FJ55. Thought I would share the progress with everyone. Goal is to get it together for a fishing/camping/surfing adventure vehicle. Nothing too fancy.

These pics are how it looked when I purchased it.. more pics after paint coming up.

Thanks Lil'John,
Painting it one color was not an easy decision. I am a fan of the two tone. It was a time and money thing, along with my problem of taking a small project and turning it into a Large project. Big hopes on getting this guy going for spring adventures.

Yes, it has a webber carb, was on there when I got it. Is that a good thing?

Welcome!!!

'79's are a rare Piggy! I love the grilles that came on them. If you ever want to get rid of your grille, I have a few '74 grilles I would trade you. 1 is already powder coated pewter.

I like how it came w/ black window surrounds for that "modern" look!

Where did you get it? Back story?

that was for sale in Raleigh earlier this past year? I think I remember seeing it on CList.

appears to have very good bones. Any hidden rust you found?

Yes ...that is the one. There were a few bad spots, for the most part it is solid. It just needed someone to give it a little attention :)
