I have a question regarding taillights. From what I can see in the diagram that SOR has on there website:

148C-01.gif

There is a metal plate (located on the picture between the bulbs [6] and the rubber gasket/seal [4]) that looks like it is used to seperate the light from each bulb in the assembly. However, I have purchased several sets of "complete" assemblies, trying to get my taillight working again and none have come with this metal plate. Does it truly belong in my taillight asssembly (1976) and is missing or does it not belong?

Appreciate the help on this.

Hrm... actually IIRC, it was California that had the separator in between the bulbs.

I could just be talking out my ass, since I've been overloaded with information lately, but that's what I seem to remember from something I saw somewhere. :D

I just replaced the lens on my '75, and it had the separators. The lenses that I had ordered from CCOT came with little plate separators (thin little plates, unlike the stock plates that slide over the plastic of the lens). If you want the ones that came with the CCOT lens, I'd be happy to send them to you (it's a pair, good for one side only).

We certainly had the seperator here in Australia.
As we had the Two-tone lens, and it is illegal for your stop light/ to flash with your indicators, so the two had to be seperated..

I wasn't trying to say that Oz didn't have them... only that I thought it was California, here in the States, that required them, for the same reason you mentioned.

Sorry for the confusion.

no worries!! I didnt take it that way :grinpimp:

By the way, does anyone one here live in Colorado? My mother-in-law is moving there next month for good (thank god!!!) We'll most likely be coming over to visit at odd times, and Id love to meet some American piggy/40/45 series owners. Also her husband is a J**p fan, and needs converting....
