I took it to Aus-Tex since they were 10 minutes from work. They missed one spot when they had it tilted but man is the thing clean. Glad you talked me into it. I will probably take my inner fenders to them as well. They will need some work but it’s the two pieces I need to save at all cost.Awesome man. Glad you did that. Makes working on it easier. I paid 525 out the door. The place in SA you recommend quoted me $500 on the phone. Not worth the drive to save $25 plus a day off work because they weren’t open on Saturdays. What are their prices like? I seem to remember calling them, but don't remember the pricing.
There is a big hole on passenger side and the drivers side looked crusty. I don’t have a problem putting more flat plate in there if needed. I’m going to take some measurement and head to Wrench-a-part on Saturday. I need to find some old 4runners switches that I can repurpose also. Or I guess I could use 80 series switches since they fit also. I have a billion of them. I would spend all day there if they had a cafe. The ribs will all be different. I think you should grind off those patches and see what's under there first.
Thanks for showing me things I probably can't afford.See this Cim? Some ideas...
Diesel FJ62 Land Cruiser to Aussie Ute Flatbed Conversion - Adventure Ready
@lynchmobI've been taking a break from the build which was needed. It was kinda mandatory since I'm on family vacation up in the Pacific Northwest but my back has been enjoying no lifting.
I did secure an engine from Odd Iron Off Road a few days ago. It's a P-pump engine with 90K on it. I now have all the big ticket items necessary to put together a driving truck. I'm hoping since I won't be running A/C that I won't need to get Dustin's (Diesel Adapters) accessory rail which seems to always stop builds due to waiting on parts. I was thinking since I'm in Portland I could buy it face to face and not have to worry about shipping issues but I don't want to waste money on something like that just yet since Im going to do my best to hopefully not need it.
I also saw this truck walking the streets around Portland. It has an interesting bed on it. It was also good for the family to see what I'm building because all they see is a big pile of crap in the backyard. They don't have the imagination I have I guess.

Nice truck.Ha - pic looks like it was from Friday. Saw this thread the other day. Looks like a fun build.
It’s was 95 degree today so I think a pop up tent will be purchased. It was brutal and it’s not even summer yet.
