I just bought a 74 with only 48k miles. It is in very good condition, but I am curious about a few items and I am not having luck finding parts at Specter and I refuse to buy from the supplier in the UAE. Any other good sources for FJ40 Parts?
1. The hubs on the front are different. Which one is the one that the truck came with?
2. I am missing the pin that holds the Right cargo area door. Is there a part number or name to search?
3. Did the 74 come with a glove box light?
4. The door pull, is that factory or aftermarket? It looks like a vinul strip with aluminum bracket on each end.

I am sure I will have a lot more questions as I start sorting through the truck.

Thank you in advance!

Neither are 'factory' as all were installed state- side in '74. The Selectro hubs are superior by far in my opinion. Warn are fine, but not very stout in my experience.

The rear door on this is not an ambulance door, it's a lift gate @wimberosa , so he's asking about the front doors. No, factory is a chrome handle with little fins in it for texture. Very well made and still findable with some effort.

'74 is a fantastic year: F motor, most had the 4 speed and you've got amber rear turn signals but still have the lift gate. Awesome.

More pictures wouldn't hurt anyone's feelings.

The glove box light was optional in all years. It plugs in to the little plug you see on the left side of the glove box at the back. You can still buy that light, but it's just as easy to make one which is more useful.

Do you mean the pin in the hinge or the pin which drops in to the hole in the rear sill? Either way, @cruisermatt may be the go-to for that: he's got an encyclopaedic mind for parts like that.

Warn, Use a scooter wheel pin (search here on mud for examples), Unsure, If you are talking about the back door inside pull...then yes...its plastic pull with aluminum on each end that the screw cinches the pull to the door with.
I have a liftgate on top and 2 doors on bottom. I am looking for the pin that holds the right door in place. Right now, it is just a bolt.

Here is the only pic I have on my phone today. I will take a few more pics tomorrow. I have the original chrome wheels still in mint condition.

Congratulations on your purchase.

#1. Lockout hubs were usually dealer installed. The 40 came with drive plates
The Warn is more common. You might consider Aisins too.
2. If you talking about the pin for the barn doors, they are not longer available. You might put a wanted ad in the classified section. There was a vendor making them in the past.
3. No light. 40's came with a drop light that plugged in the receptacle in the glove box, but wasn't really used as an interior light
4. We would need a pic.

There are vendors on this site such as @cruiseroutfit, @cruisermatt and others that can help with parts and are active here. @65swb45 has some new and used parts. The classified section is very helpful. Use the private message system on this website and dont post your phone numbers, addresses and such. Recently there's been a lot of scammers that try to contact you thru other means.

We need more pics of your 40, because we like looking at them.

My 72 has the socket in the glove box for the missing corded work light. Not worth the $60 up people ask for repo's IMHO.

I bought some water proof 60W LED work lights off Amron for like $6 each. With switching on/off the power the light will cycle white/amber/flashing white/flashing amber. I mounted it to a Harbor China welding magnet and wired it by cutting off the female end of an Amoron $7, 12' 12 V extension cord.

4.The plastic door pull is stock for the 1974 model year. One year only.

2. @kevos37 has the barn door pins. I had them repop-ed; he made me a fair deal to take what I could still find on the shelf.😊

Here's the current picture. Feel free to PM me if you're interested.

Do yourself a favor and purchase the OEM Master Brake Cylinder. Centric doesn't work. If you replaced the Master Brake Cylinder did you have to retrofit the 10mm fitting for a 9mm?

I think that "scooter wheel pins" have been NLA for so long, all references to them have been purged from 'Mud. :hmm:

The OP has a 1974 model, which comes from the factory with 10mm brake fittings.

The door pulled changed on the 74 model. It is a strap metal piece on the ends where is secured to the door. The part number for the pre 74 cast handle is 67811-60010. The new part for the strap is 67811-90901. It a 74 only strap not the later black one piece strap that break. The door itself changed 9/73-1/75. If the spacing for the handle is different not sure. I see the door frame for the 9/72-9/73 has its own part number as well. Never either a 73 or 74 door to know the difference.

When I had my Rig painted Flat Tan (idaho dirt color) from red white and blue, I change her spelling from LC to Elsie the Borden Cow

I love the yellow lights. I want to add them to mine. So many aftermarket ones. Where did you put the switch? Can I see a pic? Do you have the lights mounted directly to the bumper or did you use a bracket?
