Thought I would post these up. I found these in my parts stash of 55 parts. Unfortunately I believe they are 40 cylinders cause the boxes I got them out of stated they were part # 47560-60010. From my research I think they are 1" bores for a 69-71 fj40.

Dave you still have dibs though.

PM sent....will these slow down the beast??? I sure hope so!!

American Toyo also reports DISCONTINUED.......tried to call Mark but I guess he is at Rubicon too. Thanks to Marshall for being straight up and that they might not work (wish I had a 40 too and I would certainly buy)------------No idea where to turn until I can get in touch with Mark.

Did you try Kurt (Cruiser Outfitters)?

Sure did Solid...but he's out but will check to see if any sources. I did hear from Mark (I work at night so I have to catch him at the right time since I'm east coast and he's west)...fingers crossed and will hopefully catch him today!

Just to clarify, I don't have access to those direct from my regular importer but I've got some emails in to others. Even if they can get them it might be 6-8 weeks before I would see them.

No guarantees on these part numbers, but they are what I show for the different LC 55 applications:

Front Wheel Cylinders:

47510-69045 Wheel Cylinder Front RH early-7/70 55
47530-69035 Wheel Cylinder Front LH early-7/70 55
47510-60070 Wheel Cylinder Front RH 770-971 40/55
47530-60060 Wheel Cylinder Front LH 770-971 40/55
47510-69035 Wheel Cylinder Front RH 971-975 40/55
47530-69025 Wheel Cylinder Front LH 971-975 40/55

So this would indicate just the E-7/70 FJ55's had their own unique front part numbers but again, no guarantees this is not EPC verified, maybe Marshal can check for us.

Rear Wheel Cylinders:

47560-60060 Wheel Cylinder Rear RH LW -770 55
?????-?????? Wheel Cylinder Rear RH UP -770 55 (??? don't have a number for this)
47570-69055 Wheel Cylinder Rear LH UP -770 55
47580-60060 Wheel Cylinder Rear LH LW -770 55

47550-60080 Wheel Cylinder Rear RH UP 770-971 55
47560-60080 Wheel Cylinder Rear RH LW 770-971 55
47570-60100 Wheel Cylinder Rear LH UP 770-971 55
?????-?????? Wheel Cylinder Rear LH LW 770-971 55 (??? don't have a number for this)

47550-69065 Wheel Cylinder Rear RH UP 971-780 55 (??? I have two part numbers)
47550-69085 Wheel Cylinder Rear RH UP 971-780 55 (??? I have two part numbers)
47560-69065 Wheel Cylinder Rear RH LW 971-780 55
47570-69075 Wheel Cylinder Rear LH UP 971-780 55
47580-69065 Wheel Cylinder Rear LH LW 971-780 55

Rears look to all be exclusive to the 55, ie not shared with the 40

Hope this is remotely helpful.

My head hurts.

What I have found so far. If you have a 01/71 or earlier pig it's not looking good for cylinders as they all are unique to the 55's only and don't share any numbers. The way you know you are screwed is if you have a single reservoir master cylinder. From what I can tell they started using a combination of the single and the double reservoir from 01/71 thru 09/71. So if you have a double you can most likely can use 40 fronts. Rear are a whole different monster. As Kurt pointed out 55 rears only share the same brake cylinder as the FJ43. Which would make sense since they are longer than the 40 and more weight.

This is all speculation as I'm using an old epc at work. I can check more this weekend.

Probably the best solution if you are wanting to stay drum is to upgrade to the later dual reservoir system in the 73-75 fj55 pigs. Pretty sure you can still get those. Though the firewall mounting might be different.

Sorry Dave but the ones I have are for 40's and wouldn't work.

Marshall Thank you for clarifying...I wish this thread was renamed to "Brake Cylinders" so future readers could find the info.....but oh well. Mark is probably going to help me out on this............I would like to find a thread regarding the double master cylinder retrofit..........do recall N2666 Lou having done something with a Corvette master cylinder so maybe I can find and understand that..........thanks again Marshall

I think Pighead pointed that out 2 years and 20 posts ago...sorry Cruiserguy.

You said you "I think", I just clarified & verified it using my import manufactures data :D
