@bluecruiser That (Paulo) @Get outside guy is extra needy and sensitive....I mean he's probably gonna ask somebody to bring him beer...sheesh!
Geez Paulo, it's a tough crowd today.

A shout out to all the vendors who generously support this event each year. I just got around to making use of the gift certificate I won last year. Eric at Camelback Toyota took my call and didn't blink an eye at my calling 8 months after the event and is applying the Landcruiser club discount as well.

100S IN THE HILLS 6 REGISTRATION

Thanks to everyone for their patience as we finalized the registration for 2016 and the 6th Annual 100s in the Hills event. @bluecruiser and I just finished everything tonight and double-checked the registration forms. The cost for this year will be $100 and will once again include a t-shirt and sticker.

HIH6 registration will open on Sunday April 10th at 7PM Colorado time (MDT).
That's 9pm EDT, 8pm CDT, 7pm MDT, 6pm PDT

We are confident that everyone who'd like to attend will be able to do so. We've raised the number slightly this year and still expect the event to sell out quickly. We will have the waitlist ready and are always able to work it out so everyone can attend. The sponsor list continues to grow and we will update all the sponsors on this thread and on the website just before registration.

Register here
The registration page is still password protected. The password requirement will be lifted at 7pm MDT on April 10th. We work extremely hard to pull all of this together and we always welcome your feedback. This event still belongs to all of us. We strive to keep it laid back, fun and exciting for everyone. See you in Ouray!

WooHoo!!

Party time, excellent!!!

Good choice of music for the HIH6 video.

We are hoping that accelerating the registration date is a help for a lot of you. We totally get the need to plan ahead. We are still ironing out details with the Forest Service about the camp location, trail selections, etc. It may seem like gathering around 40 trucks is a pretty elementary process, but it requires more than any of us really expected. We want HIH to be a respected, responsible gathering that all of you can be proud of being part of. Thanks again for your patience.

Awesome! Thanks again fellas for all your hard work! Can't wait to come hang out again.

Just to give everyone a better idea of available spots and the likelihood of being able to register.....

@bluecruiser and I have talked about this a bunch over the last few days. This event is supposed to be fun, welcoming and inviting. There should be no stress. Having folks stress about getting a spot isn't very fun. It's also difficult to make plans, especially if you're traveling from 1500 miles away. Day one of registration is always crazy. The first 30 spots go pretty quickly. Our permit accounts for registered vehicles only. That means Chris and I do not count towards the total number of attendees. This also doesn't include our event sponsors. We're expecting our largest number of 100's this year. It's still very important that we keep this the intimate, small-gathering type event that Jonathan and Chris had in mind when they started.

If you are planning on attending, don't fret over registration. You'll have a spot. The USFS likes to see 10 or less on a trail. There is a fine line to walk when it comes to the right number of total vehicles. Too many and the event gets out of control from a logistical standpoint. It also loses that close-knit group feel. Knowing everyone by name and being able to camp next to vendors and new friends is very important to us. That's the whole point of this event. We're not trying to exclude anyone.

As always, we have already received numerous requests from non-100 owners to attend. It's VERY important that we do not turn away 100 Series owners because their spot was taken by a non-100 vehicle. There will be very few non-100s. We do have a few HIH alumni that have moved to the 200 or back to an 80. After all 100s are registered, we may open a very limited number of HIH alumni folks to attend. Please understand that this isn't us being snobbish to other models, it's just important to us that this event stays true to what it is for now.

It's clear that the 100 is still ridiculously popular. We will have more first timers this year than the last few years combined. That's great news for our sponsors and vendors and fantastic news for our community as a whole. The Friday Night Pot Luck could be all-time this year! Start working on your camp cooking skills now.

SO MUCH EXCITEMENT!

Even though I can no longer make the event, it is refreshing to see how much care and passion is being directed to such an event. I do wish such a message like the above was posted a couple of weeks ago, before I committed to my summer plans. Maybe next year.

Do you know if the USFS is able to enforce such rules? A few years ago I was coming up Imogene after Black Bear and ended up stuck in a switchback waiting for traffic (even though I had the right-of-way). I was stuck for 32 minutes waiting for a guided group of about 35 vehicles from Utah to pass. Talk about a drag!

Spouses and kids are encouraged to come. I got out of motorcycling and into Land Cruisers because I needed something more family friendly. And this event is especially family friendly.

Are kids welcome? I would like to bring my entire family. My wife and I would be bringing our two kids. Ages 9mo and almost 3yr old. Too young to bring?

Kids and good dogs were all over the place last year. Very family friendly.
