I've got this .....

known 64' drivetrain that I'm selling for two hondo and pick up only.
I'm located in Fontana, ca. 92336.
I lost my original intent and it is only taking up space in my garage and I would rather see it put to use. I'm now shifting my focus on McSpanky FJ55.

Don't get too excited Art, This is 1964 drivetrain, Toyota used the siamese intake and exhaust from the 25's till 1965. Tail lights in photo are not 25's. PTO in photo for a 40 on the ground. Good luck, John

Don't get too excited Art, This is 1964 drivetrain, Toyota used the siamese intake and exhaust from the 25's till 1965. Tail lights in photo are not 25's. PTO in photo for a 40 on the ground. Good luck, John

Here's question for you John. Did Toyota use the early style vacuum shifter like this one has after the mid 63 transmission change? I've only seen these on the early style three speed transmissions. Of course I haven't seen that many mid sixties tranmission/tranfers. Seems I remember that the later style vacuum shifter will work in place the earlier style if it goes bad. I've never tried it myself.

Last time I spoke with Chris about it, he mentioned that PO says it ran when removed. Almost had a ride for it a while back, but Chris had his hands full, and ride is no more

Clemson: I'm in no mind to attemp a shipping option just because of the time, size, and extra cost/hassel. Now if it waw something within reasonable size, I wouldn't mind at all with S/H. Good luck

Wasabi: I just got done with school so I'll be giving you a call right now. What a coincidence, I think I've dove by your house a few times checking out your FJ45LV. I would love to own one of those, if that is your then tell your wife sorry for creeping her out cause I was in my 40 on the driveway drooling LOL....
Nevertheless, how convinent that is.....your right up the street.

Pardion: I've been amazed on how people can/have dissected the images post here on mud, I don't think I would have ever noticed the PTO drive just sitting there. I sure now it is in my garage but didn't notice in the picture. And yes, your right, there are two 71 40's in my garage and the pto is for the tan one.

Chris, Art has a very full plate right now, but I'll vouch for him. If he posted up, he is serious. He bought my FJ25 a couple of years ago, and I don't think he's settled on a powertrain for it yet, so this might just be the ticket to move that project forward.

If it has the four bolt configuration to mount it to the front output housing, it will interchange. It's been a LONG time since I went digging thru the fiche for that info, but IIRC, the early shifter was used until 65.

Ok, So I now own the motor and trans and t-case but,
Will it bolt up to a 1960 fj25 trans and t-case?
I figured someone here on the 25 section would know.
The fj25 has the stock motor but, its just a block.
I know the front motor mounts are different but will the engine and bellhousing of the 64 F135 bolt to the trans of the 1960 Fj25?
If it does in fact fit correctly, is there anyone here in the fj25 section in need of the side shift trans and t-case that is attached to the motor in the Pics on the posts above?
They appear to be in good shape internally, unfortunelty the motor did not come with a carburator, so I can not run it and see if it shifts properly and I do not have any linkage for this type of transmission.
If someone needs this, send me a PM here on Mud, I hate to toss anything of this vintage in the trash if someone can use it to get their Cruiser up and running.

If no one pops up, then why not send it to Mark? At least this way, someone eventually may need it...like myself...and at least it won't be in the "trash".

The answer is no. the FJ25 four speed has it's own bell housing. The bolt pattern is different. I have a spare bell housing I picked up from a junk yard a while back for Archie but I think he got one from Phil instead. Would doing some trading if you want.

Is the bolt pattern at the engine different or the
bolt pattern on the trans side different?
The Fj25 has the stock motor and trans inctat, the motor is just bad.
If the F135 block will bolt to the Fj25 bellhousing I can make this work
and the side shift trans and t-case will be up for grabs.

If you already have a FJ25 bellhousing it will bolt up to this F135. I've got a FJ25 with the stock tranny bolted up to a 2F. So you should be good to go.
