Time for a v8 swap and you don't want to give up the manual shifting?
@fountainhead has probably run these numbers 1000 times. Let him plug in FJ60 vs FJ40 and see what comes out...I think one of the biggest issues I see with FJ60 V8 swaps is cooling the motor and transmission. Cam has his right I realize
Just looking at options. Seems like adapting a H55 to a 5.3 is way more complicated and expensive than mating a NV4500 to a splitcase.
Maybe I'm wrong.
All my FJ40 v8 swap algorithms include a TH400; I don't have much to offer here.
I am interested in what you figure out, though. I've got an FJ60 itch, a turnkey 5.3, and a solid running 2F in my 40 that I just can't bring myself to part ways with yet.
