My 60 was sputtering a few times on the trip.

I read up on it on Mud last week and Beno and I went through all the things that it could be yesterday.

Took it to Lou's. Drove great. 1/2 way home it started sputtering bad and only ran smooth with accelerator on the floor.

I'm gonna toss a new CityRacer carb on it. My current one has about 9 years on it so I guess it's time.

Still have a stock carb? Send it to JimC and wait a few months for it to come back in excellent condition. Once @beno is back in business order a new carb insulator and slap that on with the rebuild. I've had my 60 for ca. 14 yrs and recently did this and it is running better than it ever has.

That is what I did 9 years ago.

I like the new non emission carbs so much better. One vacuum hose. Done.

Saw this in Jasper AL on highway 78 for sale $7,300

Do those have a provision for the AC idle-up?

Reading an old Trollhole thread it looks like I need to transfer that over from my old carb. That said, I have a new AC valve and it wasn't working before the swap. Beno and I tested everything and nothing was working. I'll switch it all over to the new carb so I can try to make it work at some point.

It ran great but I think it will be better once I sort all that stuff out.

That'd be cool if you can do that (no pun intended).

So did you feel the second barrel kick in? That's a great feeling on a working carb.

City Racer Carburetor in a 1984 desmogged 60

I reported the 60 ran great after I installed the new carb. After doing so I documented the install and put it over in the 60 section

Turns out the truck was running fine but the way I had vacuum hooked up my dizzy was going to apparently explode.

So I hooked it up right and now it runs just OK

Supposedly from talking to a couple people off line I just need to adjust my fuel mixture and idle all at once with someone watching the RPMs.

It's tabled until I get back from my #eaf trip to Vegas.

I do have the proper vacuum setup now if you need to look at them. Page 2 of that thread I got it all right.
