Super exciting parking lot shots

Good to see the Sudbury Monster on here from its new home! I had been chatting with Darwin about going to see that truck but was sent out west for months on end and got mine out there.

Spent today out falling through some ice and bending up the front of my truck.

Ouch on the valence.

It’s nice that the salt trucks haven’t been out for a while.

Yeah, roads have been clean! I felt a little guilty for bending that. Can't really tell from the picture but it pushed the grille back and cracked it, and the right headlight surround. I took them off and found that they were cheapo Taiwan parts anyway so no worries there, and both are still fine even while cracked. Had to bend the valence back somewhat into shape to be able to line things back up, headlights were aimed up on one side and down on the other.

The valence now looks like someone did the bodywork with a hammer and hockey pucks, which isn't at all surprising considering that is exactly what I did... Can barely tell from a distance though, which fits the overall patina of the truck. Looks good in pictures and from a distance, and shows all 32 years of age up close.

In the video you can hear the crack right about here:

Looks cold, hopefully you didn’t have to get out in that water. North of T.O? We haven’t had any of that mess here yet.

JB Weld does a decent job on busted grilles and headlight doors.

Knock’er cross eyed, hu?

Yeah! The funny thing is the lights are so dim, even the one aimed too far up didn't bother my buddy in front as we were driving back.

Not too far outside the city. I made it a bit further than that screenshot then lost forward momentum. I popped it into reverse and drove out far enough so I could get out of the truck without getting my feet wet.

Good call on the JB weld. I'll probably patch them up and paint some of the chrome parts black at the same time, since I've never been a chrome guy. Even something like a brushed metal effect spray would be cool.

One from the previous weekend:
