I have 8 spare bushings for the frame if you need them. This will handle the frame side at least of the shackle bushings or you can do the whole fronts if your leaves accept stock size bushings. I recommend a 1" hole drill bit to quickly remove stock bushings.

Looks done! Now sell it to me to fund your next project!

:-)

I also finally installed the LED lights, on the rear licence plate holder. I bought the LED light kit from @SandiaFJ40
Can't say enough good things about this kit - worked great! I've got LED'd on replacing all lights of the truck. The only thing I have not done is the headlights - still deciding what to do there. Also Customer service with him was great! I had a minor issue with one of the boards, and he took care of it ASAP.

LED Lights for the FJ40 Land Cruiser

These LED's are bright - I took the picture below with my iPhone, with all my shop lights on, and you can still see the LED's shining on the plate. I'll grab a night photo - and also post up some other pictures of all the lights.

Mark,

Would love to see some updated pics of how the lights turned out!

Awesome truck! Im doing the same in a 65 right now. Are you using electric fans or the stock fan and clutch to cool it? Also, looks like a gm steering column? How did you mount it to the firewall and dash? Im doing that same swap as well. Thanks!

The Fan is stock, it's a Toyota Steering column. Good luck with your swap! -Mark

Very clean build! Can you tell us what bedliner you used? It looks really thick. Is it pliable or hard?

Cheers!

Armour Liner urethane truck bedliner TBL6-A

It is not too thick, seems just right to me, it's a little pliable, does not seem rock hard like it might chip off. In fact I've drilled a few holes in it to mount things... and had no chipping issues.

I did not do any research on this. My painter asked if I would be a test case for a new product he wanted to test, so I said yes. ;)

I'm getting ready to start a build on my 1977 FJ40 using the LM7 mated to the stock 4sp transmission like you have done. I have sourced an LM7 engine from a Chevy Silverado with all of the attachments. If you don't mind, I've got a some questions:

Did you use the Advance Adapters setup for the engine to the transmission?

Any transmission or driveline issues? Transmission Mounts?

Did you have any issues with the wiring harness and PCM?

I've read the ignition is an issue but I see you kept the stock steering column and ignition switch. Did you have any issues there?

How did you handle the throttle and gas pedal?

I will also be putting in the Dakota Dash/Gauges. Issues?

I am planning a complete frame-off, along with a full re-wire.

Any advice or pointers you'd like to give?

Thanks for any help you might be able to provide!

Did you use the Advance Adapters setup for the engine to the transmission? Yes!

Any transmission or driveline issues? Transmission Mounts? I just used LS mounts from Ebay, the tranny is from Valley Hybrids, and the mount too. It's a toyota 5 speed.

Did you have any issues with the wiring harness and PCM? -It all comes from same engine builder, very plug and play. He did ask me how I wanted the ECU flashed, what O2 censors I planned to use, tranny... BD Turkey engines was great to deal with.

I've read the ignition is an issue but I see you kept the stock steering column and ignition switch. Did you have any issues there? - no

How did you handle the throttle and gas pedal? - Used the GM drive by wire - and cut/ attached toyota pedal

I will also be putting in the Dakota Dash/Gauges. Issues? - plug and play

I am planning a complete frame-off, along with a full re-wire. - my truck had a painless wiring harness, that I had to repair, it took about a week of evenings to figure out. Once I figured out what wires were what, it went smooth. The Vortec engine I bought had it's own fuse box and harness, with only four wires need to make the engine run. Very simple. BD Turnkey engines are terrific to deal with. Send me a PM if you have questions.

Any advice or pointers you'd like to give?
