Hi Mud-

For those of you with a failed 4WD / 2WD solenoid(s) for transfer case actuation, linking an Amazon replacement that fits well into the stock bracket.

It does require that you remove the elevated plastic ridge on the new electrical connector for each as it does not fit into the factory channel of the wiring harness, but it takes about two minutes with sand paper to do so.

Just figured I would share as I have been unable to find the factory solenoid.

Cheers,
Austin

Thanks for this post! I was just digging through the mega thread on this issue trying to figure out the best current part options as the initial ones listed are now $196 for 88690-89132 and $98 for 25860-62010 at dealers I've checked.

Seems the 25860-62010 part you linked is the best one to grab today and it can be found a little cheaper on eBay (ships free) than your Amazon link. I grabbed a pair.

Thanks, yes, I should have linked that thread as I definitely read it many months ago and then didn’t pull the trigger as the pricing on the listed options was not very compelling.

25860-62010 Seems to be working well for now. Trying to remember to actuate them weekly to do a bit of stress testing.

Similar solenoids can also be found on 4Runners of a certain vintage. I grabbed one at the wrecker not too long ago for $5. I forget which generation of 4Runner it was in - maybe 2nd gen?
