Ok- i may have missed a thread or two...who has the 200 Series Maltec Build and I assume coming to our little event? I encountered it on the road from Ouray to Telluride this AM. I’m going to be drooling all over this.

I’m in Telluride at Brown Dog btw

I arrived at about 1400. Was looking to camp at Telluride park as I was told on the phone yesterday that there would be spots but it is currently full. Most of the campsites close to Telluride are full as well. I heard Sunshine and Matterhorn is 1st come 1st serve with no way of knowing as they do not answer the phone. Ridgeway Res is full, and my little one is freaking out about the rain.. I will be at the meet tonight though...

I'm camped at alta lakes it's also first come first served and there were open spots when we left this morning for town. The campsites are around the lake, all the other sites before the lake are closed due to revegitation

I know this is late, but any needs a place to camp tonight (and potentially tomorrow) you can use my camp. Sadly I will not be able to make it down today, and might not be able to make it until Friday evening. Clayton Campsite. PM me for details.

:poop:

The Maltec build is here by coincidence. I tossed them an invite to our happy hour tonight.

Important update for 7/26 (Thursday). We will be utlizing our secondary meeting spot (37.947180, -107.876554) which is a baseball field parking lot about 2 minutes past the Conoco in San Miguel River road off of Society Dr.

One of us will try to hang out around the Conoco to direct any stragglers.

Oakleyguy.. sending PM now

As announced tonight at the New Sheridan, we are looking to run an Ophir/Black Bear group from the meeting spot at 930am tomorrow, Thursday. If you'd like a shorter day on the trail, feel free to join. This combo is listed on the website as a Saturday option.
See ya in the morning. Look for Matt's '16 Brandywine 200.

Looks like I got my schedule sorted. Will be departing tomorrow before noon from Denver. Any meetups or gatherings planned for Thursday evening?

Bummed I missed the event this evening. :meh:

(Updated the spreadsheet to reflect my changes)

What a great time tonight at the kick off! Thanks for all those who could make it. We had about 33 drivers with guest, spouces and significant others- and kids. We Owned the place for a good few hours. Surprise guest was the Maltec folks who had their Maltec 200 series coincidently in Telluride. We all got to check it out in the front main drag.

We’re going to roll down to the meet up point now. If it’s looking like the 8:30 BlackBear run is going to exceed 10 trucks we’ll hang back and join you and Matt at 9:30.

At 7:50 10 trucks left Telluride to do Poughkeepsie. ETA 9:15 at the trailhead. We’re monitoring 146.52. Have a good one!

Any plans for an informal dinner tonight? We were thinking about Brown Dog at 530pm. Ran into a crowd on Black Bear today!

Oh here I thought I was about to read, sheep for dinner!

We would like to keep tabs on what trails each group ended up running. Can you please respond here, within the Facebook group, text me, or tell me:

Which trails did you do?
How many trucks were in your group?

I’d also like to know if anyone unfortunately missed a meetup and ended up without a group?

There weren’t many folks for the 730 meetup this morning so 9 trucks went out for Poughkeepsie. We ended up taking Corkscrew back after Poughkeepsie took longer than expected.

Finally made it in! Anyone out and about in town?

Glad you made it!

Shops close up around 8pm...and we just got back from Dinner...

Maybe see you tomorrow morning though...? :)

Here's a quick recap of Day 1 along with a couple reminders for tomorrow.

Today, we had groups run Poughkeepsie + Corkscrew, Imogene + Black Bear, and Ophir + Alpine Loop + Corkscrew? + Black Bear. We also had a late start group do Ophir + Black Bear.

One thing to note is to budget extra time for the construction on 550. Delays resulted in an extra 20 minutes each way for our group today.

There are many potential options tomorrow and it's likely there won't be quorum for every group so you'll want to plan on a bit of flexibility. If you show up for a 7:30 trail combo and you don't find any like-minded souls, then have a coffee and come back at 8:30.

Here are the proposed options from the website though groups are encouraged to modify as they wish:
  • 7:30 AM, Group 1, Basins (Imogene + Governor + Yankee Boy)
  • 7:30 AM, Group 2, Alpine Loop (Mineral Creek + Engineer + Cinnamon)
  • 8:30 AM, Group 3, Black Bear I (Imogene + Black Bear) => note: a subset of us who did Poughkeepsie today are considering riffing on this to Black Bear + Ophir
  • 8:30 AM, Group 4, Slee Trail and Learning Day
  • 8:30 AM, Group 5, Gulches II (Poughkeepsie + Corkscrew)
