Yeah- it’s not an express path for sure going over the mountain- but always a great ride. I think we will just have to get up earlier to go around 45 min to most of the trail heads.

I am completely fine with a super early start. We will bottle and preserve our east coast time

I know Ken Romer is in the same hotel we’re in...in Placerville...which is just 20 minutes drive from telluride. We don’t mind back tracking after the meetup...but Oray folks will be quite s bit farther.

I’ll be glad to try stuff, and would never want to miss black bear mainly because the views are unlike anything else anywhere. Would LOVE to do it backwards...but that would require a planned shutdown from Ouray. Not likely doable logiscally at this point unless someone knows a trick to getting that OK’d.

  • Governors Basin + Yankee Boy if time (too much to couple with Imogene unless camping on Governors... if you want to hike Blue Lakes I'd suggest making a morning b-line toward Ouray with the goal of getting to the trailhead by 10-11AM)

This is precisely the type of info that's so handy. Knowing what's a manageable amount of trail time for a given day is so difficult to know without having someone who's more familiar with the area. I was just talking to Matt about this the other day as I don't have the experience in the area to know what's manageable, as manageable quickly becomes miserable if you try to stuff too much trail into one day. Great info!

I took some time yesterday and last night to study for the Technician exam. There was a test location this morning near my house. So on a whim, I decided to take the test. Although I didn’t do great, I passed the test!

What percentage did they require to pass?

And you never really use any of it after you pass

Only 30 days away!

Will post update soon on meeting spots and trail time options. Will also update on Thursday evening’s meet n greet and Slee’s dinner location Saturday night.

Slightly different format this year with start times and trail flexibility.
