One brand new Jeep did this in 2014...just below that spot..

One brand new Jeep did this in 2014...just below that spot...where the trail becomes super easy...!!

Totally avoidable and you can hear on audio that he’s fiddling around with a wet bag in his interior(!!). Lucky for him, he stopped short of going all the way over the cliff to certain death...

Simply pay attention while driving and the spot he rolled was as easy as any portion of the trail. Doh!

I remember this. It happened a week or two after we were there.

Atrocious driving. I can’t even understand why people do stuff like that when it’s so obviously wrong. I see it all the time with motorcycles too - target fixation - then they blame the bike.

Cool perspective for the GoPro. :)

Honestly, Black Bear is not a difficult trail at all. Just that the edges are so high that it can look scary. But if you just imagine it's a dirt road of equal measure...it's not hard. On those narrow parts...you know it's wide enough, so you can basically just reasonably hug the edge and you're good.

And then don't start fiddling around with bags like that poor Heel guy! Ugh...

I know the exact spot. Ken got a little hung up on his rear diff here but grinded thru it. This clown in the rental heep went WAY left and rolled..There is another part entering the steps that I felt a little sketched. Black Bear is pretty easy but there is no doubt that you need to be paying attention to what is going on

******* IMPORTANT UPDATES*******

We have migrated all event info completely over to the website. Please be sure to review carefully and contact us with any questions.

Event Overview

All trails and group trails are now listed. I'm very excited how this is shaping up and will allow people to have some flexibility with start times and trail options. Also a first for this year @sleeoffroad will be guiding a group on Friday with on trail techniques on how to use a winch, hi-lift and many other off-road equipment.

Huge shout out to @indycole for pulling the final touchups on the website and getting all trail info updated.

This trip is going to be epic! Counting down the days!

Cole, are you going to keep your RTT on for the trip? I'm thinking of pulling mine off prior, especially for those tippy spots in Moab and Black Bear.

Haha, true, but I've been driving more conservatively as ever with the truck weighing in at 8500 lb fully loaded. Hoping to get it down to 7800-7900 for the trip though.
I will be the occasional guinea pig as long as I have Kamal spotting and Ken capturing footage :steer:

I would remove for Moab (depending on the trails) but am not too concerned about anything around Telluride... I'd love to remove it but it requires a forklift (or like 6 people) to remove and I don't know if I'll find time before the trip. If I do, it will mainly be to save some gas money.

You should and lower your drag coefficient.

Interested in what you tried that combination on? Seems like at that point Crawl is basically just a cruise control since there is no wheel spin to control. I'm looking forward to testing out the lockers at HITR... couple of spots where it may just be needed. Will be able to try a couple of combinations to see what works best where. Going to be a blast!

knocked out Moab/San Juans test run this weekend - all systems go! my new favorite config (triple lock with crawl medium) o_O

I didn’t get into anything to hairy - just wanted to run thru functional tests. Triple locked/Crawl was very slow/torquey/cruise control like. At that point ATRAC and Crawl are pretty much disabled. The one combo I did not try was Crawl with only rear lockers on - will do that in Moab.
