With -25 you’ll have a lot of rubbing. The sweet spot is 0 to -10 max offset. That’s what I had on the GX and no rubbing with 2.5” lift, BMC, pinch weld.
Where do you think I’ll be rubbing with -25? I’m on 33s currently with -38 offset and full clearance. So I’m thinking that pushing it in 13mm to account for the extra width and height in tire size will clear with some work. I’m prepared to trim as much plastic as necessary. The only concern is on the washer fluid reservoir. If it rubs there, I’ll just remove the tank and get a relocate kit later. So where do you think it’ll rub?

I have -12 wheels and I hit the washer fluid resi ever so slightly. Guessing you have a BMC? I also had to mash down the pinch weld.

I guess it all depends on what tire you use. Since the Nitto MTs are taller than most 35s I would expect rubbing on the BMC and plastic behind the wheel. I had Yokohama MTs on the GX and still got a slight rub on full flex. On the 4Runner we went with KO2s which typically run smaller than most 35s and the wife has zero rubbing with the same -10 offset I ran.

Get a good alignment to push the caster around +4* and you shouldn't rub in the back, but that would push it closer to the washer fluid resi. With my -10 offset, I never rubbed on my resi. Are you going to use the wheel spacers too?

No. I’m not going to run the spacers. If it did, it would rub for sure as that would end up being -63 offset. I’ve already done a BMC, hammer pinch weld, pushing fender liner back, bumper cut, etc. I have UCAs so castor is already at 4+ degrees. I don’t really care If I hit plastic here and there, no problem. I’ll just cut and trim. Do you think I’ll rub on the body mount even though it’s already been chopped?

Nice! Looks like you did all you could and now just have to fit up the wheel/tire and see. The -25 is still a concern for me especially with the MTs. But you won't know until you try. Shoot I've seen 37s on GXs now haha. You can make anything fit.

I have spacers for anyone who want's them, for free. I tried using them but the rims are too thick/lug nuts aren't long enough and there isn't enough thread for the nuts when I put the spacer on.
I won't pay for shipping so anyone who want's to drop by or meet somewhere near me, they're free.
I think about .5" = 12.5mm thick? I'll have to go downstairs and look to be sure.

Im sure if you post them on offerup or craigslist the tacoma and 4runner crowd would be all over them.

Here we go. 35x12.50R17 Nitto Trail Grappler MT’s are on 17x9 VTX Stinger SL wheels -25 offset. Suspension is Dobinsons monotube 2.5” lift with Dobinsons upper control arms. Dr. KDSS sway mount angle correction and rear drop spacer. Have BMC done.

Felt like a plastic surgeon on all four corners. Still rubbing on wheel well liner in the front. Still gotta chop or massage some more. So far not rubbing on BMC or washer fluid reservoir tank, but haven’t tested full compression yet. Just on steep driveway.

Welcome to the club!

Another one on 35's! 👍
If you're still getting rubbing, get a castor forward alignment. It'll either get rid of the rubbing or make it much less.

35’s feel great. I’m running 4* castor, 0 camber, 0 toe. Stock psi at 32 psi. Feels like I’m riding on clouds. Road noise is only marginally louder than all terrains. Though it does get much louder on highway speeds. There is plenty of power and don’t feel the need to re-gear. 4.88 would improve acceleration but doesn’t feel necessary.

no rubbing lock to lo lock on steep driveway. Still have yet to test during full compression on a trail.

Due to the weight on each corner, rig feels much more planted on the road. This is not my daily car. I would not recommend 35s on a daily.

I had 35s on my daily GX and loved them. Like you said the plush ride was nice. Even the 35s on our 4runner I still dont feel a need to regear.

I am eyeballing 35s but also want to get a daily, or get back into a service van.

How many of you are running lifts with external reservoirs (e.g. I'm running King)? Right now, I'm running 285/70r17 on TRD Pro SEMA wheels (+4mm) and got pretty significant rubbing on the reservoir at full lock (esp in reverse). I've added a 1in spacer to alleviate this and only get it in reverse at full lock (I think this works out to about -20mm offset?).

Considering moving up to 255/85r17, but worried about rubbing on the reservoir even more without pretty significant offset. Curious if anyone else has tackled the reservoir issue. I'm looking at the possibility of relocating them as well.
