looks amazing! can't believe what it looks like now compared to what you started with.

There's nothing like a 45 painted white; it's all business.

Looks amazing!

Ive got to get over to the shop and work on the bed i guess.

Cool build, Gumby!

2 questions:
I know almost nothing about body & paint. Are you painting these parts right in the shop, no paint booth? Is there a problem w/ overspray on other vehicles & stuff? And does the paint on the 45 come out OK with no spraybooth?

What is the plan for brake MC and/or booster? The firewall has been slightly modded in that area, dunno if that's your work or.....

OK, that's more than 2 questions.:whoops:

Just painting right in the shop. The other vehicles are getting at least rubbed down if not waiting for paint themselves so I'm not too worried about it. The paint is coming out fine with no booth.

There's some posts are couple of pages back about the master. Going with a GM hydroboost. It fits right next to the rib. The expanded hole was to get it to fit.

The color choice is your fault, by the way.

I was looking back in the thread for the type of paint gun you are using and didn't see it. What brand and especially, what tip size are you using?

It looks like its flowing out nicely.

The HF gun was not flowing well on the SWB so I switched back to the Eastwood Starting Line gun with a 1.8 tip. The Concept is some thick stuff.

I did come back in last night and hit the light spots and the spots where I had to sand out sags and runs.

Wow, a 1.8 tip? I believe thats much larger than the spec sheet recommends. So, it wasn't spraying good with the 1.4? or maybe it was the gun itself?

I started throwing parts in it to get things sorted out. This one is going to get running first, then I'll take parts off and finish them. I need to get something out of the shop by the end of the month. It's OK if it comes back, but it needs to be mobile.

:hhmm:

Stayed a bit longer than I intended, but the boxes of crap are getting smaller.

Almost everything will have to come off again for polish, paint or powdercoat, but I know what I have and haven't got. Kinda important on a basket case.

See, that's why I feel right at home here. It's always my fault, it's only a question of following the decision tree back far enough. :meh:

The hydro boost and p/s pump and lines are from a 99 Suburban. The heads, w/p and accessory brackets are from the same vehicle.

The master for the suburban got lost so I grabbed that master from a chebby van of unknown year at a boneyard.
