The 2F does not mind at all either. That’s just kicking the can down the road though. You just said your transmission is bad.

I was looking to do a rebuild on the 4spd. Looks like georg has the rebuild kit at like $300ish. Needs bearings and a 3rd gear

Quick question, have you checked Fluid level of transmission or tried changing fluid from maybe a conventional 90w to synthetic? Might be cheap band aid or help prolong things.

Or swap to another known good 4 speed and have cheaper fix.....

Again, trying to save money and also not spiral down the change this or that trail, then end up changing 15 things associated to initial change item.

Hahaha Chris topped it off before he sold it to me, and the fluid looks brand new. I’m not sure what’s in there though. I was thinking of going to a heavy weight oil to prolong the rebuild. Finding a good 4spd would be awesome. Maybe someone who was swapping to the h55. I really like the Orion case. Even though it pops out sometimes it is pretty awesome.

Why are we yelling :slap:

Carry on

I know you’re asking Rob, but my 40 used to do that too...sucks when it’s in gear. Worn out key switch was my issue. Replaced it with one from cool cruisers.

He was being asked due to the sheer volume of this garbage he’s laid his hands on.

Good deal. I’ll get one coming.

any of you guys use Heims instead of tie rods? I snapped a tie rod end at hot springs today. Thankfully it snapped getting onto the access road.

Kinda sucked but a friend flipped his 4Runner so he got the carnage award.

Dodge pulled amazing. Man that Tacoma sucked

You will need to have the arms drilled for them. To me, that’s a pretty cheap fuse to keep from wiping out the knuckles.

I’d check and make sure everything is tight and add a new Tie rod end and rock on.

Yeah come to think of it. Tie rods are super cheap compared to other things that could wrong. Thanks dude, good call

Is anyone looking for a nice FJ40?
This 1980 is In Vicksburg. Real good guy that owns it

1980. Great mods. Got some rust bit not nearly as much as most square bezels.

there is no FS ad. Serious buyers I’ll pass along. He is $15,000 firm and I think it’s worth it.
