General Question. I have a complete 3FE with harness and computer in the barn, so rather than rebuilding the 2F and adding AFI to it, would it be reasonable to look at rebuilding the 3FE and swap it into the 40 with an H42/split case behind it? Am I over thinking it again?

3FE/H42/Split Case in a 40 would be awesome. If I remember correctly, it does not allow use of the stock brake booster/master due to interference. It likely requires a crossmember support under the rear of the drivetrain. You may have to loose the torque tube crossmember as well. Custom length driveshafts...
