The doors have side vents. I didn't think that came on models after mid 70s. And looks like some homemade brackets holding the apron to cowl and bib on and maybe rust painted over in rockers coming through. Cool looking find

Nice! Skinny 33's and a lift look so right that they should be considered stock IMO.

I agree it looks way better. But every single part on that truck is OEM. Would almost be a shame to change it IMO

Winter projects on the 40:

• Carb and dizzy are now at Jim C for overhaul and tune.
• Need to setup the orion build next- Dec/ Jan
• New header back exhaust- Feb
• Family roll cage- bonus if possible by MK2015

Finally got the carb and dissy back from Jim.
Everything checked out fine according to Jim and I was going to put the dissy in yesterday when I realized I did not mark the rotor direction under the cap when i pulled it.

What say the pros here?

Rotate the crank to tdc #1 cylinder and install dizzy. Make sure rotor button is pointing to the #1 plug wire on the cap. Then set timing after you crank it up.

Any of you guys with the stock/OEM spare tire carrier running an oversized (33-35") spare? How did you get it mounted on the carrier? Extend the studs?

Guy that bought the 79 here is asking...it was easy on my 76, guy on Mud was selling an extended carrier. 79 carrier is a different animal though.

Dude went ahead and put a lift, tires and a winch on it. He's coming by with it around lunch, will post a couple pics.
