interesting solution - looks good :cheers:

we have debated whether to fab a tab so that the cable is forced to tuck in vertical when the tailgate is closed - don't have the design finalized yet

Corrected (cut and re-welded) the left side cable to tailgate bracket.

Cut some of the 3/8 aluminum as backing plates for the tub side of the cable. The right side already had a hole with a grommet that the license plate light wires formerly passed thru.

My starter is on the fritz. About 30 percent of the time it wont turn over so I open hood and tap on the starter with a hammer and it starts right up. Is there something I can do to that starter like clean it or should I just buy a new one?
