Anybody know what color the tailgate struts and lift gate struts should be? Are they body color, trim grey. or a different color. I'm thinking a powdercoated aluminum color would look nice.

Also, I'm not really happy with the trim pewter paint. I'd really like to powdercoat all that stuff. Anybody got a good color for that?

Lizardskin came in today. Not really looking forward to masking off the inside of the truck to spray this **** on.

Gumby, cover anything you don't want spatter on. That Lizard Skin really flies. Didn't know if you used it before, but you're going to like it.

No knowledge of the primer gun. I used their gun, just a undercoat gun. The stuff is thick, are you useing both products. Sound Deadner and the Ceramic insulation.

What kind of seats did you get, I'm looking for some " bad back " seats, for the 55.

The lower struts got powdercoated Eastwood Silver Vein, which looks like a dark grey hammerite and looks very nice next to the Pyrite Mica paint.

The upper struts look correct polished.

I think I've managed to get a powder mix that looks good for the pewter.

It's 1 part Eastwood Silver Lining metallic, 1 part Moonglow and 2 parts rally wheel charcoal.

Looks great! Can't wait to see the finished product.

Fort Awesome got a sweet purple floor and ceiling today as well as super spacey reflective silver inner doors. It looks so good it's going on the ceiling as well. All I need now is a zebra skin couch and a disco ball and it'll be the coolest fort ever.

The Lizardskin goes on purple, but dries a flat dark grey. It looks good as a floor, but I think I'm going to paint it white. I know it's not stock, but I think it'll look way more finished that way.

The ceiling was going to be just Reflectix, but I had a lot extra Lizardskin and why not have an extra layer? Especially since it's supposed to be a sealer as well. The inside of the tailgate is getting both too.

Powdercoated the spare tire brackets, the window handle and door handle bezels and the door pulls.

I haven't used it before. I saw a thread on the HAMB that claimed I could spray it with a 1.8 primer gun. I'm hoping that's the case.

Bought some seats today. The interior is coming together.

Have not shot LS yet, but don't think you can shoot thru 1.8. Pretty sure it has to be a Schutz type gun. And do cover everything, even outside truck, that stuff flys. Have shot others and can't believe where I am finding dots of undercoating. Be sure to post your experiences with LS.

Gumby,

You said, you're going to paint the Lizard Skin. I didn't know that would work. Special type paint or prep. I know before I sprayed the bedliner over LS, I had to scuff it up some.

After double checking LS's web site info, I went ahead and shot a topcoat on the deadener today. Still have to get in there for some touch up once it dries, but it's mostly done.

Baked some parts too.

And fixed an Acura with a bad coil.
