3FE vs 2/3F carb cyl. head

yes, all 3F (carb) engines (+1985 globally), so FJ62, FJ70/73/75, FJ80, had those manifolds.
It will bolt right to your cylinder head which is the same. You'll want to use the 3F gasket, 17172-61070. Available in the US actually for less cost then the 2F gasket.
Thanks Matt, that helps confirm what I’m thinking. My confusion was because I think I’ve seen some late 60 Series 3F motors with the 3FE style exhaust manifolds we got in the US on FJ62s and had only ever seen these manifolds on 1990+ FJ75s. My data pool for that is admittedly pretty small though. Just getting my ducks in a row so I don’t buy a bunch of wrong parts.

If that was the case that would be a retrofit.

Here is some pics of a typical gen-market FJ62 (+11/84)

No 2FE. I am running a 3FE exhaust on a 2F.

Mosley has put together a fresh 2F and I'm going to use the 3F manifolds on it, along with a new OEM carb. I'm out of town through the weekend, when I return I'll post up the part number for the exhaust down pipe.

This is the part number of the down pipe I purchased. I'm fairly certain it will mate to the 3F exhaust but until I put them together I will not know for sure.
