3D Printing Parts for the 80

I just threw @Ballsie an idea for 95-97 trucks. As with most add ons it's storage related.

So, I hope this isn't taken as off topic... We're a few steps removed from the topic of the forum here, but it does relate directly to 3d printing. I'm happy to delete if it's considered too inappropriate.

Anyway, there's proposed legislation in Washington State right now that would require your 3d printer to send anything it intends to print for confirmation against a database to make sure you aren't potentially printing gun parts. I don't care how you feel about gun control (incidentally, untraceable guns are already illegal in Washington state) but this is just blatant surveillance masquerading as gun control. Washington residents might consider calling a rep or two.

Hopefully this isn't derailing this thread too far.

This is something for anyone who doesn't have a FR & Rear Diff lock switch.
UHF Holder for the diff lock switch cutout.
Simply pop out the blank, and this part clicks inplace.
Can be optioned with a RJ45 passthrough
Specifically designed to suit the GME split mount design, but this should also fit other models with a center screw width of 29.6mm.
Designed to fit the following
91-98 J80 Land Cruiser (80 Series)
Should also fit other Toyotas with the same diff lock switch.

These turnsignal replacements are clean for sure. But so is that small hoop goliath bumper. Feel like these are been the darling of social media recently.

i saw a 3d printed replacement for the rear "subwoofer" to turn it into a switch panel i thought it was in this thread but i don't see it. anybody know where it was? i searched pretty hard but I'm not using the same words they used.

I'm doing something similar, but in the cubby.

I really like using my cubby though. That's one reason I didn't want to stuff the rear quarter.
I have been considering replacing the ashtray with an outlet however. But putting something only behind the sub work work for me. But I totally get how using the door as just that, a door to a fuse box, is still very smart.

Thx! I still have the panel off, so if you can't find what you're recalling, I can take a look at it if you need.

BTW, Lee makes a nice 2-port ashtray replacement panel.

Sorry I'm not the same person that was looking for it, just commenting on your design. That was

I didn't realize you were into 3dPrinting though so that's neat. I've purchased a few items from you in the past for my GX470 and my 80 for welding on. 😅

LOL - you're right

That's multitasking for you.

This is FormFutura ApolloX (their ASA formula) in gray. It's not perfect, but the color is closer than some of my more-faded panels! I've heard that ASA can be troublesome to print, but I just ran Bambu's generic profile and I think it prints easier than PETG. I have a X1C though, so it's enclosed.

Well, since that time, I don't see importing filament from Europe getting any easier. I thought I'd just do a color comparison to a couple other gray filaments I have currently, in case anyone finds the info useful.

Anyhow, this first shot shows Bambu Labs PETG-HF in gray on the left - way too light, and 3d-Fuel PCTG in Charcoal Gray on the temp tower on the right. It's not quite as dead on as the Form Future stuff, but comparing it to panels that haven't seen much sun looks pretty close. Included various shots against different interior pieces in different light.

PCTG is pretty cool. It's chemically just slightly different than PETG, but it seems to be slightly better in almost every way: stronger, higher heat resistance, and even easier to print. You can see the changes in temp didn't make much difference, though I think maybe the bridge settings could use a tweak.

As a bonus for us US dwellers, it's made here and ships from North Dakota. It's about $30 a kilo. Cool stuff.

For reference, I printed that with .28 layer lines, so it looks pretty coarse, but that was literally the first print with it with 3d Fuel's profile they have on their site for my X1C.

Hey all. Here's some stuff I designed (3ds Max. I'm a game developer/artist/tech artist). I'm curious what filament colors/brands people are using? I saw that the Oak interior can be painted 'bronze' to match, but I haven't seen any other info on the dark grey, light grey, or the off-white (cream maybe?) color these interiors have.

I'm also designing an overhead console that deletes the sunroof controls, houses a 12 gang control panel, a cb and has swivel map lights. I'll post that when the design is further along.
