Took some time to design and 3d print some replacement step nuts for the truck this past weekend. Also made a little install tool so the screwdriver wouldn't mark them up during the install. Shot some paint on them and installed.

Bought one or two from Joey.

Lost them to the vacuum during pre-summer cleaning.

I hate these stupid plastic things. Has anybody found a metal option? If not I just may go with a threaded sleeve and a bolt/washer up top...
i started to turn some aluminum nuts in my lathe then it occurred to me that Mister T must have a reason for plastic. My guess is that if you stomp on a metal nut with enough force you deform the bolt , which would be hard to replace... so I ended up using delrin. My reasoning is it is better to strip or deform a plastic nut than deal with replacing the bolt

We need a thread on 3d printing designs (you could start the trend). I am working on a few things and I would be happy to post the files up for those who could use them.

Edit:
I shouldn't ask someone to do something I should do myself: 3D Printing Parts for the 80

long tested, don’t do aluminum. It’s why I large then in plastics.

Can you make an extended set? I have sound deadening and the stock length nut don’t reach the metal screws anymore?

I just replaced all 4 of mine with new oem and two if them are already missing. We need a better solution. Who is going to make billet steps?
