Our tires look very similar in size.

Have you put a level and a tape measure on yours?

Nope. Ive had them aired down for awhile, but if the weather is clear enough this weekend ill put a tape on em and see. what pressure are you running ?

Both sets of shocks are not maxed out with my stock sway bars. The sway bars are what are limiting my downtravel, not the shocks.

If I was looking for a ramp champ, I would do L shocks in the front and lengthen all of my sway bars.

The rear shocks are more than long enough with or without the swaybar.

Here is is RPM wise on the road. Speedo shows 51mph, GPS shows 60 mph.

RPMs are 1800-1900. Pulls just fine without lugging in OD.

Nice tires, thinking about getting the same.

Just make sure your torque converter is locked in OD so you don't get unnecessary heat build up in the tranny and wear things a little quicker.. May be worth while running OD off, in 3rd gear, so the TC stays locked.

^ ya since im not regeared i roll around just about every where now with OD off, unless im driving above 70mph which is RARE

I was playing with that this morning. I agree, OD off is nice if there will be any shifting happening.

It locks up and pulls fine on level ground in OD though. I also don't have 2000# of crap in my 80 like most Urban Expedioners do.

HAHA awesome line.

Truck looks great with the new tires. Wonder how that would be in the mountains and stock gears?

80BajaBound: How are you liking the tires with 4.88? Any wish for 5.29's instead? Love your build by the way.

the big mountains of Mississippi :D I drove out to chattanooga right after i did my tires and i wouldnt say it was unmanageable in the mountains but it wasn't much fun trying to keep speed on some climbs.

I want.

I started to shake in my boots at the price untill I remembered that I paid that much for the Goodyear Eagle F1s that are on my SRT8 Challenger....

How much does a tire/wheel combo weigh?

How's the uptravel? Did you lower the bumpstops, or does it rub up in the fender wells?

The rear is close, I am going out today without any bump extensions, I am hoping I can make it home with all my flares and flaps.

I am thinking the front is fine. I used spacers and the bumps are in the stock location still.

Rear is tight. I am thinking 4" bumps back there. Again, I have not gotten there yet.

I also don't have any spay bar extensions.....yet.

Work in progress. I will let everyone know how it works tonight and what I will need to buy.

kinda off topic, but where did those side bars that rum from the bullbar down to the running boards come from?

They are ARB

They are ARB

They are actually copies of ARB fender bars made back in 2002 when there were very little options for 80 series trucks. The fender bar and the sliders are one piece of .120 DOM tied to the frame and under the truck in a skidplate. Very strong. Made by Baertrax in Dallas.

Tire report.

MPG is down from 13.3 to 12.0

I did a 200 mile round trip today for a trail ride. Tires did great, played in the mud a pit and twisted it up some.

I ran effortlessly at 75mph in OD on flat groud and cruise control. On the backroads it handled well and I ran it in Drive and it felt good.

I have no rubbing that will hurt anything in the front. Just a bit at full turn but it is not hitting anything that will get torn off.

In the rear the tire stuffs into the fender well and fills it completely. They don't run on the plastic in the front that is attached to the door but they do hit the fender flare in the front a bit and the rear mudflap.

I think a 4" rear bumpstop will cure all rubbing that will hurt anything. They do slightly rub the inner fender but that is smooth and won't be a problem.

Off to get the right bumpstops and I will report back.

First off - Thanks for the kind words.

IMO 4.88's and these tires are a great pair. I can set the cruise at 70 and the GPS says 68. Not to mention I could get 15 MPG at CA freeway speeds.
Prior to the 345's I had 305's and they weren't enough tire for the gears at CA freeway speeds.

Thanks for the reply! 15MPG with that setup is impressive.

I really liked those integrated slider/rails. It would probably be a pain to get them to fab more?

Glad you got the new tires on! the old ATs are running nicely! :D
