@bagochips76 Awesome work putting this kit together! I'm in the early stages of planning a potential 2UZ swap into my 1970 FJ40 and trying to map everything out before buying a motor and using your kit.
I know the kit is engineered around the early 10-spline coarse input shaft setup. However, my truck is currently running a complete 1976 drivetrain setup, meaning my H42 4-speed has the 21-spline fine-spline input shaft.
Is there a way to make my fine-spline transmission work with your kit?
Specifically:
- Is it possible to use your crankshaft extender spacer with my '76 fine-spline shaft by simply sourcing a different pilot bearing that bridges the two? If so, do you have a part number?
- Or, would it be better / possible to open the transmission and swap my fine-spline input shaft out for an older coarse 10-spline shaft, then change my clutch kit over to match?
I am targeting a 2004 non-VVT-i 2UZ core because of the mechanical throttle cable wheel linkage, and planning to run an Advance Adapters Orion 4:1 case out back. Just want to make sure I handle the front input shaft puzzle the right way.
Thanks for any insight!
