If ya ever drove a Cruiser/buggy with a 5.3 you would be chunkin rocks at these other options.
I've hit 5k with mine a few times . Nothing else sounds like a 2f being pushed to the brink . Anyone got any pics of what happens to a 2f when it's been rev tested a bit too much ?

Todd, how many 2f's have you had for any period of time?
gm throttle body w/some sort of tunable ecm (megasquirt ?)
My first 40, which windowed the block on the highway and then the engine I replaced it with. It was fine, but I didn't run it hard.
My last 40. Which ran fine. I didn't have it very long so I guess that's not "any period of time". However, it did sit in a swamp for more than 10 years and I was able to start and run it without taking the head off. That doesn't really speak to the high speed reliability of the engine, but it was pretty amazing.
My 60 had the engine replaced once, then the owner gave it to me when the second engine seized on the highway. I put a small block in it. It didn't have any more crank failures.
My 55 had the 350 put in because the previous engine windowed the block on the highway on the PO.
My 45 and my second 55 had 327s put in as well, but there are a lot of reasons to change a F. They might not have blown up first. I don't know the history of those.
I've had not a few customers who have also had high speed problems.
Besides - I have never had an early Norton bike, but I understand the physics of why the crank flexed and broke. Does it mean that it never happened because I never owned one personally?
I wonder how many million more sbc engines were produced that cruiser sixes? It's easy to find dead 350 pics on the interweb.
I know more people that have failed chevy motors than have had failed cruiser motors. Hell, I know of a BUNCH of 350's that never made it past 130K. Perhaps that is because they were used. Perhaps it is because the quality control was nonexistant for chevy for a while. Donno...
So, how many months have you actually owned a Cruiser straight six?

Good question.
Does it matter tho?
