sad to see you bought the FJLoser over a real kickin truck.

but

as long as YOU are happy that is all that counts,
congrats.

Aussies are soft; comes from drinking rubbish beer and riding bicycles with helmets with all those big brother cameras watching them :-)

Seriously, enjoy it. I hope you keep your sweet 40 though, with or without a petrol lump. My son loves the fj loser too.

Edit: Oh man, I just skimmed your thread as I've not seen it in a bit. You sold your 40 and bought a bimmer; you are a typical Aussie with a European car after all! I'm so bummed you sold that thing mate-I loved that rig....and to qld!

Did you wind up doing the Alaska trek with it?

Alas the 40 was sold to finance the new house a few years back, now settled in the FJ Cruiser will see a few tickles to make it a little more capable.

However the memories will be cherished for ever. My favourite, hope your son enjoys.

I can imagine. The cost of housing was just one of the reasons we moved back to the states after seven years in Oz. The fj is certainly a more comfortable way to see the Bush. After 12 trips in my 40 including the Tanami and Nulabor, I can appreciate the idea of creature comforts in one's transport.
Thanks for the links!

The FJ Cruiser is pretty much a prado with a different skin and no diesel option.

I was hoping for a picture of something a bit more awesome.

Patience :hhmm:

the FJ shares the same platform as the Playdo, the Tacoma and the 4Play ...
sticking a diesel in should be an "fairly" easy proposition ... but why?

Yes but why, the V6 would suit 2 little turbos quite nicely me thinks one for each V

But I guess we can carry this discussion on in the FJ forum FJ DOWN UNDER

oh boy, kinda figured it would be transformed into something better ... in your hands

Wayne, my grandmother used to say 'you can't make chicken salad out of chicken s***e.' However, if anyone can turn that turd around it'd be Matt.

I will be rolling on the ground laughing when the "mule" has a rod sticking out of the block. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken $hit.

Proved wrong with time :D

Been in hospital for a week, all good now but took time to re read the whole build, got quite misty eyed.

Forgot how much work and how many hours went in to this, not to mention the money.

You can never take the memories away

I think the Stars maybe alinining:steer:
