What manual did they update for the 2026 model year?I think they need to include any vehicle in the recall up till they revised the 26 manual. You can’t just reverse bearing damage.

Ok maybe its in all of them not just the 26 then…That same text is in my 2025 700's manual.
I know it will never happen, that would be fantastic. Id take the 30 grand wait till they figure out what’s really the problem and then upgrade to the over trail with a non-replaced engine.we should each be refunded about $30K for this mess on the engine imho. eff the recall at this point. we should be able to buy our own engine fully crated. no short block bs.

Yeah that what I was thinking. Barely been putting miles on mine and haven't put PPF on yet, incase I need to trade up to a new model..That aligns with what Toyota has been saying.
What do you mean? Also thought they were going to readdress the recall on Jan 6, 2026?
If this is true then wow this is the best news ever. This is comically bad workmanship that can be fixed and not some super scary “design problem”.That aligns with what Toyota has been saying.
The crazy thing is how the V35A has eaten bearings since the low volume Japanese made 2017 LS500, and in 2026 we still have no definitive statement from Toyota that this problem is solved. If this is true then wow this is the best news ever. I thought they were going to update the recall on jan 6 and make some announcements. Could be very wrongWhat do you mean?
I also remember reading people saying that on Jan 6 Toyota would issue another recall to include another batch of engines manufactured during a certain period after the current recall end period. Like many of the comments here, pure speculation.I thought they were going to update the recall on jan 6 and make some announcements. Could be very wrong
It's all in the defect information report.I thought they were going to update the recall on jan 6 and make some announcements. Could be very wrong
Notifications to owners of the affected vehicles will occur by January 5, 2026. A copy of the
draft owner notification will be submitted as soon as it is available.

How are they “modstapos” if Toyota sent a C&D and asked them to delete that info?Ask Ryan, he is on Facebook. Toyota sent a cease and desist to Tundras.com and got him banned from the site for posting pictures of the engine diagram. He bought this shory block new to see what was going on. Unfortunately Tundras.com modstapos deleted all the info.
For sure, you don't want to defy a legal dept like that.. a lot of members were just annoyed that in addition to deleting the offending diagram and internal info, they nuked everything he had contributed over the few years he had been bringing awareness to the engine failures. Probably lost 5 or 6 threads with hundreds of pages of info. Pictures of the engine internals as shown above, itemized short block replacement costs, his spreadsheet tracking the engine failures, etc. But I understand why the mods did that. How are they “modstapos” if Toyota sent a C&D and asked them to delete that info?
(I use “ask” lightly…)
Do you think they instead should have defied a multibillion dollar international corporation’s legal team?
Isn't there a site that take snapshots of other site or is that only on redditFor sure, you don't want to defy a legal dept like that.. a lot of members were just annoyed that in addition to deleting the offending diagram and internal info, they nuked everything he had contributed over the few years he had been bringing awareness to the engine failures. I wish I had some of it saved, there was lots of interesting stuff. This was back before the recalls and as the failures started happening people didn't want to or chose not to believe it. Lots of those threads had hundreds of posts just arguing and nothing of interest was lost though. People got so heated. I do remember seeing some interesting stuff like posts from the Middle East with blown engines, and LS500s with bearing issues years before the Tundra started using the engine.
