seems like they just need to cut the oil filter open and see what's in there. Pass or fail. But I still think they don't know what is causing the metal debris. They say casting left0vers but from what I've heard that is a really big deal with this level of manufacturing; just hard to believe it's leftover debris.

So, instead of buying a brand new 700H OT (or any other regular 700H), you are contemplating buying a used 65k miles (crazy miles for a 2/3 year vehicle btw) that you are certain is under the recall and might have the bearing issue? Unless the LX600 is priced as a Camry and/or you do not want/have the means to order the 700H, this does not sound like a smart move in my book.

Since you said you are not off-roading it, I am not even going to mention the tremendous leap of capability the OT is when compared to the 200, but even for a pavement princess, I would just look for a very lightly used 700H in any other trims, before going the used 600 route.

Big caveat to all this. If you need a 3 row or values cargo space, just order a 2row OT or a brand new 600 then. Any brand-new LX you order will be covered by a 6-year power train warranty anyway - recall or not.
It’s all moot now. When I called the dealer to see if they could pull it out front from a closer look they said the 600 sold last night. It was in pristine condition and they had just dropped the price into the mid 70s. Was originally listed in the high 80s.

That said, they just received an equally pristine LX570 on trade last night that they didn’t even have the chance to price. So I picked up that instead and left happy with the reliability question solved. Another 5.7 V8 in the stable alongside my other LX and GX.

I think it is tuning and oiling issues along with a bearing they removed softer material from (lead?) for enviro reasons. It jumps hard into boost without downshifting and the oil pressure barely creeps up with that water oil. I also read they tune to keep the oil pump drag down as well (so less psi 🤷🏼‍♂️).

But it would be interesting to see one day something like them finding the block having a flex point in certain conditions that makes the internal parts kiss each other. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hey all, I got onto this site for my GX, but have a completely different topic that may be relevant here. If not appropriate I apologize.
I had a tenant in my building that left a stripped '24 Lexus LS500 sport-I just lien saled it. Body is still there along with the complete drivetrain. I don't know total mileage but it has been in the warehouse for at least 8 months that I know of, so I doubt it has more than 20 k mileage. Anyway I'm bringing it up because I thought I'd see if anyone could make use of at least the engine here before I contact dismantling yards. As I understand it, the motor is the same as the Tundra except for twin intercoolers and the tuning. (I believe the ECU and all original electronics are there as well). The car is in the Los Angeles area so in anyone has an interest let me know. If not I'll go a more conventional route. Thanks.
