Regarding the pretty wide statement. The tread is sub 8” wide on a 5.5” rim. Thats not much of a stretch IMO.
They rub on the drag link and the pitman arm on flat ground at full lock on my 40. I do have FJ60 knuckles on the stock axles, but that can’t make that much difference.
If you don’t wheel your rig they might not rub, but if you wheel your rig these will rub the inner fender, both front and rear. Especially up front if turning the wheel.

I definitely don’t wheel expect to get ice cream w the kids😂 so I should be good.

Check out @wngrog projects at Tilda Bogue. He has used the City Racer wheels and Yokohama G003's in 255/85-16 a ton. They look really good on the cool trucks he rebuilds. They are my favorite tire and size as well.

I may have a few to look at

Great pics. It is too bad that BFG does not produce the KO2 or KO3 in this size for those of us, like myself, that want the classic BFG look. Right now I need a set of tires for my 16" factory wagon wheels for my 82 FJ40. I just don't want MUD tires on it. It is never off road and I am worried the Yokohama tires, or KM3 for that matter, will be noisy. My rig never sees 4WD. City streets is about as rough as it gets

235/85/16 tires fill out the wheel wells perfectly and don't rub. I think Jonathan Hanson outlined it well in his write up here. I'm a fan of the classic white letters out.
