Where'd ya find a lower cushion for $120? That's a deal!

Do you have any recommendation for grade/stiffness of foam to add to the bolsters?
eBay (US Auto Nation), but I have a GX470. Not sure if the 100 series cushions are readily available. The one I bought is a non-OEM cushion but is M-USA and was a pretty close match to stock.

We did use some foam on the cushion. The OEM lower had a upper foam pad that the aftermarket lacked. We used two layers of 1/2" craft foam from Wal-Mart. It was initially a bit harder than the OEM foam but has really softened up and now feels pretty nice. I think you could visit a Hobby Lobby, Jo-Ann, etc and find some suitable foam. I used Loctite spray adhesive to attach the foam, as well as make a few minor repairs in the remaining foam, which also worked pretty well.

FYI - my wife does quite a bit of sewing/crafting which made this job easier.

Ahhh, gotcha. I've used US Auto Nation in the past for foam for my Sequoia, but they don't carry it for the LC/LX - I asked them even. Thanks for the info though!

I've had zero luck finding the LC100 seat foam from any supplier. Still looking for leads on this if anyone has one...

FWIW I've had good luck restoring the leather from prior neglect with Leatherique and maintaining with Griot's Garage Leather 3 in 1 and Odor Neutralizing cleaner. Still has patina which I don't mind, but the leather is much softer and more supple.

I purchased a new driver's side seat foam for my 2000 TLC this last April during one of Toyota of Decatur's 25% off/free shipping sales for like $180.

Here's a thread/post with the part numbers.

I also purchased the drivers bottom seat leather from Wolfmans Auto and Cycle Seats/Hot Rod Upholstery which looks really really good.

I have yet to install them though.

How close is the Wolfman‘s ivory color upholstery to the factory ivory upholstery in color? Can anyone provide a side by side picture?

Also, for those who ordered factory foam replacements. Mine came with a plug on the passenger side. The drivers doesn't have one. Any ideas why or what the plug is for? These are part numbers 7150160070 and 7150260090.

Saw this in another thread - the plug may be for the air bag detector weight sensor in pass. seat.

That's my understanding too. I noticed the same thing when I recovered my seats.

Just had the new Wolfman/Hot Rod leather bottoms installed along with new Toyota foam. Looks excellent, and the installer was pretty nervous about where the leather came from but was impressed after the install and said it was a very good fit and well-made.

Looks great, hard to tell from the photos but how closely does it match the factory OEM ivory leather?

It's not exact but it's a lot better than the torn up seats. This is a temporary solution for me - I'll eventually have all of the leather replaced - so wasn't too worried about it. The installer said they could make it a more exact match but I told them not to bother. Next week it's getting detailed and the older leather will be cleaned up a little - after that I'll take some more photos and update you on the color.

havind never done a seat bottom material replacement, I see that hog-rings are mentioned.

How difficult a job is it and do any of you mudders know of a youtube vid that showes the process in our 100's?

It's not hard. If you are mechanically inclined, a first-timer should be able to put on new seat covers in one day per seat. The second one will take about half a day. The process is actually pretty logical and easy to follow. You are just sliding the cover down over the foam and installing hog rings. Take good pictures during disassembly.

If you aren't mechanically inclined or DIY inclined, I wouldn't try it. Presumably most people who have a 100 are mechanically inclined (you kind of have to be with a 20 year old rig unless you have a A+ mechanic on board) and should be able to tackle this.

I had it done by a local shop and labor was 500 to replace the foam and leather on the two front seat bottoms. Just didn’t have time and wanted it to look right.

Here’s a video from the place where I got the leather:

I've got pics of the full process of the seat recover on my build thread (see sig). If nothing else, it will give you an idea of how involved it is.

The cover install is not difficult. The key is to get yourself a quality set of hog ring pliers.
Anybody know why Wolfman's Lexus seat bottom is $100 more than the Land Cruiser seat bottom? $278 is pricey. And it's backordered.

I'd guess it's due to the leather (material cost) he uses? Give him a call and ask him, I'm sure he'd explain. He's always picked up when I call.

Anyone know where to source the second row leather upholstery?

I replaced my front covers with Landcruiser Heaven's. While I'm mechanically inclined, I opted to have them professionally installed. I didn't want to have any wrinkles or screw them up. They look like OEM and have held up great. Definitely the closest I will get to driving a new LC.
