They must not trust my credit. We’ve always been told cash only. I wonder who else in life is screwing me???
Same here.

Yeah I called back and asked to confirm price (which varies based on vehicle and length). And confirmed cash/ check is same price and cc is option with fee.
Heck- i paid with cc last year. I remember being shocked that it was so high. They charged for the truck and one passenger (me) plus fuel surcharge plus credit card surcharge.
THE definition of nickel and dime.

@SeanLX and @Green Hell Mustang -
Y'all want to meet at Neuse Sports Shop then caravan from there? Coming from 540 takes me 264 to 795 into Goldsboro.

So I'm thinking I'll have room for my clam steamer/cooker. Would there be interest in clams, oysters, crabs, or something of the sort on one night?

Check this out! Roughly U-12 shrimp for $4 per pound at Miss Gina’s. She said she expects to have plenty Thursday AM. Great bait/food!

From 70 Morehead City:
After the bridge in Beaufort, from the left turn at No Name Pizza go just over 3 miles on towards PI. Look for her sign and cooler rig on the left. Cash only.

We always stop at Neuse's on the way too. Might see you guys there tomorrow.

We’re gonna stop and fish along 70 on the way in and plan to be at the ferry approx 100-115pm for lunch and prep. Stop if you see us!

Don’t forget to top off fuel. It’s 10 miles to the closest gas station.

And Miss Gina’s shrimp place is before the bait shop I posted a little ways back here, so thats the default if Gina’s out.

I doubt anyone would turn them down. Your call. FYI ive never found fresh shellfish around there, but I hadn’t tried the Morehead Harris Teeter.

It's the right time of year for oysters. If you wanted to find those then stopping at a seafood market would be the best bet. Never tried Harris Teeter but maybe I missed out.
Based on Google a place like Reynolds or Atlantic in Kinston or Morehead or somewhere bigger would be the best bet. You have to go into one of the place that sells fresh fish on ice and ask for oysters.
Wilmington or Raleigh (Earp's) I know where to go but not down near Portsmouth.

That said I hope we have fish at some point and extra fresh shrimp that didn't go toward bait can taste pretty good with no steamer required.

Spent 1.5hrs paddling around the Cedar Island bridge today. Didn’t catch anything. Damn wind pushes a cheap little boat every which way it wants. Sarah had fun drifting and taking pics. Watched a lot of Marine Ospreys flying overhead.

Oysters: Blue Jeep on Hwy 70 right pass Belk on the right has great oysters and shrimp, bring cash. Or Blue Ocean Market on Bridges street has oysters as well.

You don’t notice certain otherwise obvious things when you check in to a hotel after dark. Like, for instance, that the sound is 200 feet from the back door!

Greeted the sunrise with a bait stealer. Sadly, no puffers.

Found footage of the guy we pulled out of the way on the road back from Portsmouth Village.

Was it an epic trip or what?

Hate that I couldn't make it.

Four recoveries total. One of them was not my truck, but definitely my fault.

Ninja edit: Got some really great photos too.

Great trip. I'll try to post more and add a few pictures later.

...I might be one set of those recovery pictures.
Just remember when the photographer says "keep doing that" he's talking about what looks good in the pictures not spotting your line. :) This driver knows better and should have thought about when to stop before burying a couple tires in the sand. Makes for good recovery practice and it popped right out with a little tug.
and hey, making it 2 out of 3 times up that ledge ain't bad. :steer:
