2016 Moab pre-run for Ouray

I would recommend sliders as a minimum and more depending what trail you are going on.
 
I'm gonna try and work this out.
 
I'm going to invite my father in law and my buddy to come along to keep me company.
 
Get them to drive the Kansas leg...welcome aboard
 
We will certainly have to work out a caravan
 
As much as I love camping this monthly forecast for August in Moab screams swamp *** - if the weather changes then so can our options but I think I'll be locking down a hotel room as a back up plan - and thank god the pride parade isn't until October so we wont have to mess around with all that.

Now who has knowledge on good / clean place to stay that's close to everything?

Thats why CruiseMoab is the first weekend in May. It is the sweet spot for weather. Either that or the fall
 
I was out there for labor day in 2015 and it was really nice. We'll make the best of it. You are lucky to live so close.

If you're in Moab, the Hilton is very clean and is in a great location.

Yup, you will find it as the Hampden Inn. If you are there on a Wednesday night, thats Lasagna night at Pasta Jays :D

I've been in Moab the beginning of August, don't even plan on sleeping outside! It was 98-103F when I was there for a few days of playing. Thank goodness for our hotel room at the Hampden. :rolleyes:
 
@Willy beamin. Are final dates for Moab set? August 1-4. and drive to Ouray on 4th. Check in July 31 or August 1 and checkout Aug 4. Trail runs on August 1, 2, 3, and 4 (half day).

Checking out on the 4th is a good move. Makes sense that we can all caravan down to Ouray together.

Hotel booked. I went with the Holiday Inn Express. They have two Queens with pull out suite for a decent price. If you have never been- arrive early and you have to hike to the delicate arch. No where else on earth are there such geographic wonders.
