I got a free admission card. How do I go about submitting that?

I've been talking with a couple of peeps about possibly flying in for this event again. I have had a great time hanging with you guys and the CCLC peeps up in the trees at the north end of the KOA and playing music at our small campfire. Of course me being me, I tend to like for all the good things to be just like they were before, which includes the 'mix' of cabins and tents we had on my previous two visits.

I've heard that some more cabins were built, and now there's gonna be a lot less room for tents. Can someone fill me in?

Twin Grove opened up a new area for tent camping with at least 15 new tent sites. This used to be called their "paint ball area" that has been closed for years. It is up and to the left of the cabins. It is shaded and mostly level.

Hey Jon!

I'm really glad you chimed in on this. I consider you to be one of THE 'go-to' guys in GCLC. So, I've got a pretty good picture of the layout in my head, save for my general sense of direction on the right coast! If you're walking north thru the trees where GCLC and CCLC camp, you get to the north end and you can turn left to the gate, which is where I'm gathering the new tent sites are, or right, back out of the trees, where CCLC peeps have brought up a trailer or two for their 'trailer queen' rigs in the years I've attended.

So it sounds like the new tent sites are beyond the gate. Is the gate now open so you can drive your junk to your tent? I remember being offered the option of camping behind the gate before, but you had to carry your stuff in.

Can I still pitch a tent by one of the cabins if I want to, or are tents now segregated? As much as I like my privacy, I don't like feeling like a back-of-the-bus second class citizen. IOW, like everybody else, I like the decision to be my choice. Every once in a while, I still plop down my junk out in the open next to an RV. Usually it's because the owner of said RV 'adopt' me for the weekend. Chances are I'll just set up somewhere in between you guys and the VA boys, since you're both fun groups to hang with.:)

If anyone can get the 'goods', you can. You da man Jon!

BTW, nice avatar. We gotta trade song lists so we can work up some jams this time.

Any updates?

Looks like we CLCC peeps missed out on getting a cabin to congregate our myriad club members' tents around. If any of the GCLC peeps end up not needing the cabin they rented we'd certainly like to pick it up instead of it going back available for non-event folks on the Twin Grove website. Having a club cabin was pretty sweet last year and we'd like to have one again this year.

Meanwhile, airfares continue to go up in price, and I've not booked a flight pending resolution of this.

I have tried phone, email and text. I have not gotten a response. I know they opened up a new area for tent camping, but I can't get any details.
I will ask one of our local members to take ride out and see what's what.

Thanks Jon. My pocketbook appreciates it.

Get on it people. If you register after June 14th, no shirt will be included in your registration package.

The raffle is shaping up nicely and in our continuing quest to be the best event on the East Coast, this year we have a new caterer for dinner who specializes in real BBQ. Yea, they’re bringing a competition smoker trailer. It will be outstanding.

Registered and booked my cabin.

Funny, we tried to get a cabin in early March.
The campground said 2 were being held by GCLC and that all others were booked. We were really counting on a cabin since we typically show up 20 members strong with 5-10 rigs...

As was mentioned on your forum, cabins book up quickly and far in advance. It was announced at the raffle last year that people should book immediately after the event, Sunday or Monday latest.
FWIW I have heard from a lot of Gotham members that cabins are booked already too... you are not alone. I hope you work it out...

Registered and booked my cabin.

And the above booking was back at the end of January/start of Feb... and I don't know where in the campground his cabin is located....
