Sorry, been super busy lately. Let's get back to planning the M&G!

Ok, So we've decided on August 25th-26th, 2012 for the Meet and Greet date.

Lets find a place to go that won't be insanely hot.

High elevation is our friend. So i was thinking somewhere up near Big Bear like we discussed, or possibly even Gorman (Hungry Valley SVRA).

Also, there's down south in SD... like near Julian and such.

So lets brainstorm and then i'll put a poll together with multiple locations and we'll vote.

Gorman would leave out the SD folks as that's a long drive. Julian area is reasonable for the SD and OC folks, but a little long for the LA gang. Some good wheeling close by at both those locations.

Trying to make this one. I vote for somewhere up in the SBNF. Holcomb Valley, Big Pine Flats, etc. somewhere high and hopefully cooler.

Another vote for Julian. I'm not biased either:D

This park is nearby and I know that Expo Portal had a M&G and camp here in the past. Not sure of the details.

Lake Hemet?
I have never been nor do I know more about it other an what I read on their site. They say they offer primitive group camping in a pasture. The photos look nice. Don't know. Just throwing it out there.

El Prado Group Campground

There is a group campground about 10 miles outside of Julian on Mt. Laguna. Elevation should be around 5600'. There are great hiking and even better mountain biking trails in the area. For the bold, you can run down to the Mud Caves in ABSP which is an hours drive away.

That sounds like a cool spot. SoCal80s, hiking, mtb trails, brews and food.

Gonna be in Boston that weekend :(

From Julian, the trail that makes most sense is the Chariot/Oriflamme/Rodriguez Canyons loop, but it was closed a while back due to a fire. Have to see if it's back open.

Anything lower elevation than this will be too hot.

Let's not forget that Corral Canyon is only 50 minutes away from Mt. Laguna for those that want to wheel.
