3) I wore an adult diaper the so restroom breaks weren't needed
4) black bear was technical as in if you screw up you're dead - but it wasn't stressful or anything - just pay attention on certain parts

So was the adult diaper for skipping bathroom stops?
-Or for when a cliff's edge makes you live out that oldish SNL skit/commercial for
depends-style product called...."Oops, I crapped my pants!" ;)

I was hoping he was kidding...plenty of trees along the way. And there are restrooms at nearly every major stop- the forest service is good that way. So don't let that scare you.

Heehee... Would actually love the cliff-fear-factor...
Bathroom issues always remind me of one more reason I'm glad I'm not a girl... ;)
-Just not so sure about me wifey...although she is definitely a trooper.
Might be making this trip on me own...

Diapers were a joke Mark. No worries. As BTUMAN said plenty of opportunities along the way.

I'll put my wife in a diaper anyway....if we are able to make it...she'll love it!

Only 4 months away! Can't wait to get back out there. Sorry haven't been on Mud too much recently. Been busy traveling, building swing sets and enjoying the slopes...

Really looking forward to the trip!

Wondering about something though...

Seems like we have a TON of people going. I've never been, so I'm curious about such large numbers.

To the veteran Ouray-runners among us... How many groups do you think we'll need to break into in order to keep a reasonable pace?

Or put another way... What do you think would be a good number PER-GROUP?

no more than 20, then you need a trail leader, gunner and mid gunner. 10 is pretty easy

What our club run does is has two trips. One day folks can do black bear, the other day the can do Governors Basin or Pokepsquie gulch. and visa versa the next day

never been to an FJ Summit, they have to have a lot of rigs. the no more than 20 is something we use at Cruise Moab as a rule. Course our Permit says that as well

Sounds good. I assume you veteran Ourayers will figure out who will lead?

Really looking forward to it!!

At FJ summit they try to keep to 10, but usually 15 would show.

20 would be hard. Right now we have 19 confirmed. With folks adding and cancelling we may end up with 20-25 so if we split into 2 we should be good.

I'd rather not split- group shots of 20 - 200 Series LC s is part of the reason for going!

I don't want to pull permits as this is more a get together and having fun. So we will need to have 2 groups if we stay larger. We can definitely get some group shots somewhere and then split up for trail runs or meet at the top of a mountain where trails intersect for lunch and pics.

You don't need Permits. I was talking our BLM permit in Utah

I would suggest groups of 5 trucks or so, to keep the groups moving along. I'm very "go with the flow", so just throwing that out there.

Maybe some of the guys who went last year and who know the trails somewhat could be team leads: BTUMan (probably knows the trails better than anyone), WillyBeamin, CodyAustin5, and Kreiten, Atwalz, Steenh, Slee, or myself as other possible "team leads" if they are interested. This might help organize everyone into groups of 4-5 and choose trails for each day.

The up side would be more efficient trail-running and ease of keeping track of everyone in your group/team. The down side would be that people would not get to socialize as much while out on the trail, with people in other groups/teams.

Then again, we should still all meet up for dinner and drinks later on, regardless of what we decide. The 4-5 truck team idea would help for coordination of group text messages; they could be relayed among the "team lead" and each lead could disseminate information to his/her group.

Or lets just jam 20 LC's on a trail and see what happens! I'm good either way!

I'm not going to be able to go to the Lonestar Toyota Jamboree or Expo this year, so this trip is looking to be more probable.

Put me down as a "Maybe"

If this works out I'll be doing the Moab portion of the trip as well.

This would be my first trip to Ouray in the LC, but I did take it to Moab last month. Also, I've ran most of the trail in Ouray 3 time in my FJ Cruiser. Although I've yet to do Black Bear, it's blocked by snow on my previous trips.

Also, If I make this trip, I'll definitely be camping rather than staying in a hotel.

I'm flexible as well but I don't want to slow down the trail especially if people need to pass or coming from another direction. We'll get it figured out as numbers get finalized. On a selfish note I want to be on @kreiten group so he can take pictures of me! :)
