What are your thoughts on an under cab sub tank? custom
Iv thought about that with just a simple sub to rear transfer pump to keep it simple but at the same time not going to be doing extended range trips
so it's down on the list for now
Ya it will be a custom job. Ideally I’d likely to keep it as OEM as possible similar to the setup from the duel tank troopy but that would be spendy.

I think keeping it simple like you said with a transfer pump is going to be the best bet but I’ll have to see what the sub tank comes with from Dan in Kamloops.

I don’t have any huge trips planned but figure this would be a nice mod to have on the truck. I’ll be designing my canopy for my tray in the next few months and one option is to add fuel tank mounts to the back of the canopy. It’s an option but I want to keep as much weight forward as I can. Cost wise it would be cheaper to add a sub tank as well.

Been busy getting the sound dampening finished up for the 9hr drive to the Summit Expedition Truck (SET) headquarters just north of Edmonton. Decided to go with the Dynamat Extreme for stage 1 as I had enough left over from my previous build vs purchasing all new product. For stage 2 I used DEI carpet light for added dampening and thermal regulation. The stage 2 DEI was a pain to install given that it was/is all one piece but a little persistence and patience paid off and I’m happy with the end result. Significantly less road noise and I have no doubt it will help keep out the dry Okanagan heat.

As you can see I had a few wiring looms to remove. Majority of the wiring went to the back bump station as well as the roof for lights, horns etc. was nice to finally tackle that and get it cleaned up.

I leave Friday morning to pick up a rear and sub tank for @Kroll 79. What’s better than one 79? TWO haha. The 17th will be spent installing castor correction kit and adding a wee bit more lift to the truck. We then head to SET on the 18th for the tray and ARB bumper install.

Stay tuned for pics!

2300kms later and I’m back home with an entirely different animal of a truck. I couldn’t not be happier. First an foremost credit due to @Kroll for his hospitality, time, generosity, beer, and the list goes on. Couldn’t have done it with out ya buddy.

Drove 9 hours to @Kroll place with a rear and sub tank strapped to my mock flat deck. Safely delivered. Check.

Wrenched the entire next day completing the castor correction from OME, the 15mm spacers for the front coils, Superior Engineering extended shackles for the rear, coolant reservoir delete, and removed a few of the unnecessary mechanical pieces from the pre-existing pump. Check.

The next day drove over and hour to the SET head quarters for the tray install as well as a new ARB roo bar. Check.

Specs on the tray:
- 72” flat deck (72x66)
- Custom Land Cruiser headboard
- Side gate kit
- Plug and play wiring LED
- 33” fenders
- Rear 32” locking tool boxes
- Rear pull out 5ft locking drawer
- 12.5 gallon (47L) water tank
- 6 tie down points

Could not be more tickled with the overall turn out and attention to detail that SET puts into their trays!! Quality hand crafted Canadian built product!

Drove 1150km home one happy guy. Check.

All of the extra (secure) storage would be very nice. 😁

Wife and I took a trip to Police Outpost Provincial Park near Waterton, AB. First big trip with the new Summit Expedition Truck (SET) tray and could not be more thrilled. Whilst there was no true off-roading or 4x4'ing it was nice to get away from the norm and hit the open road. Not a singe rattle or vibration (from the tray) and the onboard 47L of potable water proved to be convenience that was appreciated.

After 4 months of circulating from who knows where these finally arrived from Japan! Went with the red leather and red stitching to pay a little homage to the fire truck that it was in Japan.

Those keychains and keys are flippin' nice. Have a link for who does those? Or do we need to speak Japanese?

Haha they are flippin nice!!

No link just a contact through IG. Message me on IG at @adv2bc and I’d be happy to share!

Nice build so far, I'm friends with Dan Martz from Kamloops. I brought a HZJ75 in around the same time as you. I like the arm rest cup holders, I just ordered a set :woot::jimlad:

Been picking away at mine, doing it all solo mostly, you're definitely further along than me. Those rear seats look great btw, and that trey is 👌

Gonna be tackling the rear window plate soon, followed by the roof and rear seats.

Nice thread. Cheers.

Had a hitch mocked and fabbed up for my upcoming trip to Whitefish, Montana. Not completely done but good enough to add a bike rack. Once home it will get a centre plate added and finished with either a powder coat or Steelit.

Pretty thrilled with the end result!

Looks great! Give me a shout when you come to Whitefish, it would be awesome to meet up!

@JDMBC ….. You couldn’t squeeze the entire truck into your avatar? 😁
