We had a Diet Coke on the carpet
Saudi style…..it was devine.

My brain is fried, basically up all night and on planes all day. Like high school, I was pretty wound up about my “first date” with the 100.

@wngrog picked me up and we talked a bunch and poked around some Land Cruisers at the ranch. I have maybe 90 minutes of seat time in this thing and it is the best road vehicle I have owned, other than a 1980 300D I bought new the same year I bought my FJ40 (also new, I had a good year).

This thing is a tank that handles like a sedan. I am over the moon happy with the hard work by the Nolen/Meshal team.

I’m going to bed, more to follow……

OLD MAN 100
Catching up and getting to know the new truck. Wife named it Omar. I think she has a thing for Mr. Sharif.
Had @Meshal source a Saudi style drawer system - heavy duty diamond tufted metal shelf plus a robust padded enclosure with some padded travel bags.

Since it's padded looks like the perfect place to stash your kids on a long trip if they become annoying.

I AM LEANING TOWARD SKINNY, WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Snow season is coming so we need to replace the Saudi sand shoes. Dunlops are very popular in the Gulf and seem to do a fine job, no complaints so far but they do not get great reviews in rain and for ice/snow reviews are terrible. So...... off to Discount tire. Looking at options for an almost stock height daily driver/dog hauler/kid limo with nominal backroad use and fire trails in the Summer.
Opinions?
As it sits on a Dobinsons kit (monotube shocks, 1" over stock coils in back), torsion bars stock settings in front:

Here are the candidates, along with current Dunlops:

My thinking:
1. All options are winter rated with excellent reviews. I have had AT3s on two trucks.
2. The 33s will look cooler and are heavier duty, better for trail, etc. but ride quality and some rubbing might be an issue without jacking the torsion bars.
3. We have a GX460 and a 79 Series for dirty fun, so don't need "trail tires."
4. Seems like the "little" AT3s would meet the need at lower cost with (perhaps) lighter steering/response.
What did am I missing?
Thanks in advance!

You think it will rub without jacking the torsion bars?
I've run 285/75R16 K02's or Cooper Discoverer AT3's on my stock height LX since about 2017... even in Low mode (AHC) I've seen/felt/heard no evidence of rubbing with either tire. Pretty good consensus around here that it's a quite-safe tire size to run without any modifications

Thanks for the input. Toyo AT3 285/75 R16 fit and look perfect - with some fine rubber overdrive action to boot‼️
Better ride as well.

BONUS BENEFIT
As noted elsewhere, the GCC/Saudi 100s all seem to have speed alarms that trigger when engine RPMs reach 3,000 in fifth gear. The indicated speed on GPS app was 73mph.
A beeping noise wa a constant presence while driving the truck home from Nolan’s last month. I kept it at/under 3,000 rpms if traffic allowed but when flow was heavy and fast, I became a risk for other drivers and sped up triggers the speed alarm. The truck does love to run - up to 90mph.
The new Toyos are 1.9” larger diameter than the Dunlops they replace. As a result, the effective final drive ratio in fifth dropped by around 6% and the alarm does not trigger until app indicated speed of 77 mph. Big improvement as I can now at least do the speed limit in most areas without the alarm sounding.
In the future I may do a refresh of the H151 to replace the fifth gear gearset going from .881 to .750 for a further reduction of the net effective fifth gear final drive ratio. Reduced cabin noise, reduced engine wear and improve fuel economy are possible, if not likely benefits of the transmission mods. A swap to a new H152 would accomplish the same thing as an option.
We shall see.

So the 152 gears can be added to the 151?

Yup. @orangefj45 and Terrain Tamer
Sells a replacement gear set for the 0.750 fifth gear ratio, also 2nd gear synchro upgrade as I recall.
Or, you can buy a H152 from TT, swap your input shaft for the 1FZ and sell your H151.
Here is a video on the gear swap if you DIY the H151.
