To assume that LT tire pressures can be derived from some base pressure because it was only ever about load - bamboozle.

If you honestly believe that, then you should contact Toyo Tires and tell them that their engineers who published the following document - describing just how to derive LT-Metric tire pressures from the OEM base pressures - are full of s**t:

Guidelines for the Application of Load and Inflation Tables

While you're at it, probably best to send another letter to the TRA (Tire and Rim Association - found Here) as they are the source for the tire specs and Load/Inflation tables that tire manufacturers must meet. You should also inform them that their entire organization is full of s**t.

Further, just to make sure you cover all the bases I have in my research, send yet another letter to the JATMA (Japan Automobile Tyre Manufacturers Association - found Here) as they are the primary source used by TRA to establish a minimum RCTIP for LT-Metric tires of 35psi based on destructive testing under load. The nice folks at JATMA are very cordial and open to discussion, but they may not fully appreciate your use of the English vernacular s**t, so better just call them baka.

Or... just continue to bask in your righteous indignation and mislead folks with your "feelings."

Load rating is important.

But to assume we know what the load rating necessary for a vehicle is based on the placard may not be accurate as manufacturers may take multiple things into consideration when establishing what psi to run and paste in the door jamb.

Rctip is a good starting point, maybe even as a minimum just to be safe.

But for all we know, the stiffness of the wheel tire package is just as important (for handling/safety) as the load rating (within reason).

Or, you know reality…

Its obvious 26 is too low, and 45 is too high.
Its obvious tires are totally different these days.
Its obvious if a tire is rated for a load, that you must not exceed that load rating.
Its obvious that you should fill based on your load.
Its obvious that an identical load tire, made exactly like its flotation sized counterpart, on an identical load truck should get the same psi.
Just like its obvious that the oem recommendation isn’t based on weight alone, and equally obvious when you look at real examples of oem psi specs.

The table is true on load for load calculation, Its painfully obvious it is being misapplied.

You cant be this hung up on a technicality to actual endanger peoples lives right?
Its insane.

And no there is no 35 PSI industry established minimum.

a landing page?

Can you at least provide evidence of this? Ive been waiting a long time.

I've had you on ignore before - congratulations, you just made it to my ignore list again.

This morning I had breakfast with a friend, who has a Rock Warrior upgraded Tundra. Thinking about getting a set of those wheels for my Tundra. He was running 50-psi because he took a road trip to pick up some hardwood firewood. We looked in his door jamb because I was curious, and a factory sticker over another factory sticker said to run 45-psi (LT tires), and for the spare it said it was a P-metric with a pressure of 33-psi.

Can someone confirm a 17" +25mm wheel fits an 09 LX?
Method says yes, Tirerack says no, brakes won't clear.

Yes, anything with at least a 16.5” ID barrel will fit even with the later years tundra brakes.

Probably every single 17 on the market should fit your model year.

Thank you!

No problem, and keep in mind the barrel is slightly concave and the lips are flanged.
I didnt want to muck* up my tape measure to get the inside reading at the HUB plate where the brake assembly will live.
It could be the same, could be less than 16.5". And it still clears my larger brakes.
But barely.

In the early years of the 200 some 17” rims wouldn’t fit. By now I expect all manufacturers have adapted due to the Tundra market.

BTW for any shoppers.

New wheel alert 🚨.

Thinking of picking up a 2019 LX, atomic silver.

Most of these LXs come with 21”wheels. Is there an 18” OEM Lexus wheel that would fit this LX? Or any other recommendations?

I am more interested in a smoother riding vehicle, so figured the 18” wheel would be good. I will probably get some nice compliant Michelin tires. Won’t be doing any off-roading, so more concerned about smooth on road driving.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You could go with a TRD/BBS wheel or an aftermarket 18" such as from Method Racing.

Any wheel that fits an LC (which are all 18” for the most part) fit the LX.

Starting to browse new wheels, likely dropping from the 18" Method to a 17", but that's about as far as I've gotten. Anything I should steer towards or away from as I get into this? I've got the spidertrax spacers, but wouldn't be opposed to taking those off so long as everything else lined up.
