Any update on the 200 key?? I'd like to give one to my father as a Christmas gift since he just bought his first 200. Do you think you'll be in the production phase by then to cater to holiday orders? I don't mean to rush you I'm just impatiently curious hahah! Can't wait to see how they turn out:popcorn:

Very slow progress, unfortunately. Lots of work travel lately. I plan to do a few trial runs with adventurous customers to prove out the design in real use (since I don't have a 200 series myself).

Realistically, I might have some trials running in a month with regular sales models available shortly after. I wouldn't count on it all coming together before the holidays, but I'll try to make it happen!

Just found this thread! Subscribing so I can get a notice when it’s for sale! I hate the 2013 key fob. We can fit a terabyte on a something smaller than a pinky finger but the keyfobs are massive’

I’ve thought about that too.
But all a pinky finger size terabyte has to have is a storage chip.

I suspect fob size decisions take into consideration that if they were much smaller, the *three and 4 buttons* would be too small and fiddly, and the already-reduced battery size would begin to struggle too quickly if much smaller than it is.

If thumb drives needed 3-4 buttons and to house a physical key...a transmitter, etc. they would quickly become bigger than a pinky too.

Plus, the FOB is basically “always on” as it has to be sensed from a significant distance (evidence is interior lights coming on when you begin to approach you truck).

Blah blah blah... But there’s a ton going on in that fob that tiny thumb drives don’t have to provide. :meh:

Update. Latest rev plastics are in, Titanium has been hand-filed to near-perfection and it's just like I hoped. The key clicks in like a magazine on a nice pistol. It's very satisfying. I'm moving into field testing. If you're in CO (north of Denver) and want to help test (big discount $$) send me a PM! I'm only looking for locals at this point, but I'll open it up for early adopter discounts once I launch this thing for real (Early 2019, I hope)!

Managed to get my hands on a pre-production unit and this thing is awesome! Extremely well designed and engineered, it feels very solid and durable in the hand, and it goes great with the 100 series key next to it:) Andy says additional refinements will be made, this is just a prototype

Quick update for all following this. I made some minor changes based on @TheForger 's feedback and will have the next rev in hand in another 2-3 weeks. I expect to be ready for soft launch at that time unless a new issue arises.

These look amazing. Any plans to also make these for LX keys?

Thanks. Potentially. It depends how well this first 200 design does for me. The Lexus design is more complex and organic so that may be a bit more difficult to reverse engineer. Where there's a market for this, though, I'll follow.

I'm making some big investments this year to help grow the business and greatly improve prototyping speed. If all goes as planned I'll be able to do a few designs or more per year where right now I can only really manage one.

@suprarx7nut
Will the prototype you’re working on work with/ compatible with 2016-2017 LC 200 remote key (HYQ14FBA)?

No, it will not. What I'm working on right now will only fit the more rounded button remotes from the earlier years. That more rectangular one is one of the potential next designs, though. I already have a tester remote for measurement and test fitting on my desk right now, actually.

Got it.

It’ll fit my 2014, correct?

Looking forward to it.

Yes, it should. I'm still trying to finalize the compatibility list, but the 2014 should still have the half-round button remote. Does your remote look like the link below?

Yes 2014 will work just fine so long as it’s the OEM key. That’s the same year model as mine and I’ve been messing with the prototype for the last few weeks with no issues at all. On a side note it does not affect the signal to the truck at all. I can still lock and unlock it while upstairs on the other end of the house
