I decided to take 2 year old on her first little trip. I did Switzerland trail near boulder, co. Last time I ran this trail it was in the snow in my Tacoma before she was born. She seemed to have fun, loved the wild flowers, but eventually fell asleep... Good first run. I might try old flowers road next...
I did a short trip report from the wheeling I did on Saturday for my local club, so I figured I'd share the same info and pics here.
I have been getting stir crazy without any wheeling since Moab, and I realized I've only put 11 miles on the truck since May 5
My dog and I went up to see how far we could get up Argentine Pass, and it turns out you can only go about a quarter mile past the Waldorf mine site before the trail is completely blocked by snow. The drift is long and at least 3 feet deep in most places, so it's still going to be a while before it melts. We also went down the other spur that takes you towards Mt Wilcox, and that road is even more buried and looks like the trail is getting eroded by the snow melt. Some pics:
It's incredibly green and wet down in the lower sections
In fact this section of trail to the right fork is now a legitimate stream

Ran into @thehoneybadger up here. You can see the hill climb behind is totally blocked off now and has 3 fences marking it as such that I could see.
Huge snowfield and deep snow blocking the trail
He said "no dice let's check out the lower trail"
"Well how does it look?"
Not good! Snow is deeper, and it appears the trail is getting eroded from the water and snow.
Had lunch by the old bristlecone
"Thanks for getting me out of chores today!"

What I did today.
Figured out that 4 maxtrax are the perfect height to raise a canoe so that liftgate can still be opened without damaging spoiler or rear door...
Just what I need to do! Thanks for the simple solution that was right in front of me. I'm headed camping on Lake Michigan this week and will raise the canoe a bit. Yay!
Had a great day of trail riding in the San Juans. Perfect for the first off-roading adventure in the 200.

I like the idea...but wow that thing sits way low.
I’d be hitting that thing constantly.
Seems to me the main reason he’ll need that rear winch...is for all the times he’ll get hung up on the low-hanging winch-mount!

Spent around 8 hours in my rig from Tacoma, WA to Sequim to visit Olympic Game Farm with a convoy of 6 vehicles. Then went to the top at Hurricane Ridge where the picture was taken. All in absolute comfort. Had this been in my lifted Ram 1500 I would of felt slaughtered!

Brand new to the forum and LC family. Got her yesterday, took her to the trails today. Traded up from a 4Runner and was concerned with slightly less ground clearance and lesser approach and departure. Was mostly concerned with departure, but didn’t drag or scrape anything yet.
