Looks good :) I like the way it turned out.

Thanks. In reality I am happy with things. Mostly because I am seeing the end of the tunnel.

Here are a couple pics of todays progress. I was wanting to sand down the building primer today, but I have to wait between 4-8 hrs to sand. So, I don't think it will happen tonight, but will happen tomorrow morning. I did put some building primer on the dash to cover up some sand scratches. However I don't have any pics of that.

Again, thanks for all the compliments.

Oooh, I meant to tell you. I was playing on Google Earth the other day. & I checked out the location in Boulder Canyon where this truck sat for 10-15 years. I had always heard that the pics on Google Earth are almost all a few years old. So anyway, if you know what you are looking for, you can find a satellite pic of these truck, parked on the hill with age-flat tires and granite boulders holding it in place, because all of the fluids drained out of the brakes and clutch. I don't know that most people would find that cool, but I figued you guys would see the coolness of that.--

This sounds cool.. hook me up with a link/address

It's like Christmas! I must have been asleep at the wheel again because I just found this thread. I know we emailed a few times but I read this thread for the first time tonight. That was real treat starting on page one and reading all the way to paint here on page six. Your truck looks great and definitely keep up the good work.

Does it count if my Tahoe is in the 1st pic on page 1? I feel guilty that I just found your thread.

Is this the place Abe?

YES! That is the place. I am glad youfound it, as I was having trouble copying the pic out of google Earth, & I don't think that I could have explained how to get there to anyone that hasn't been there before.

With luck, this pic will show up in the post. I wil fill in some more details, if the pic shows up.

It is the LV sickness....I had to make a few calls but eventually I was able to convince the black helecopters why I needed to know where all the LVs were. :D

It has made me think that we should start a satellite search for all of the old unknown cruisers out there. The pic didn't come up, so I will just try to explain it for everyone. The house at the top of the pic & furthest to the right is mine. That is an old mid-80's baby blue Volvo station wagon there (both the house and wagon abandoned by the lady we bought the house from). Neither had been touched in years before we bought it.
The house at the bottom of the pic(and slightly to the left is Bill and Carole's. All of the assotred things on there property are: a deck right off of the house and a large white trailer next to it. Directly west from the house, 2 old VW vans.Directly North of the Vans, a (smallish white square) a 75 fj-40. Directly NOrth, and just a harir to the west (left) a shed (they tell me its full of old parts for the 45, but they are in the back. someday they will clean it out and give them to me).

Finally, drum-roll please... the Fj-45 wagon is the white rectangle furtherst west (left). It is actually sitting in the driveway of the property west of Bill & Carol's. That driveway has now been excavated and a large house is on the lot. But for years it was just land with that little hill/driveway, so they had it parked there forever. If you remember what the truck looked like before, it had black hood, but the fenders were still white. If you look at the pic of it closely, you see the main body (large white rectagle), and to the west (again, left) you can see a darker square which is the hood. Then if yyou look really closely, you can see two small white spots on either side of the hood, which are the fenders. the crummy part of the deal is that when I first got the truck, I towed it to Lakewood. then, I got it running, but still needed to replace the brkaes, so I towed it to Evergreen. then, another 1.5 years rolls by, I get it running, & with brakes, etc... * we end up buying the abandoned house right freakin next to Bill & Carols. If I had known ahead of time, I could have just pulled it 100 yards, and not rented a trailer twice!

Study the pic of the LV well. Really learn to identify one via satellite imaging. Then, follow Google Earth farther up Magnolia road. Carole told me a few years ago (when I first got the truck from them) that she knew an old man up Magnolia a way that still has two LVs. I always look when I go up that way, but have never found them. So maybe we could track him down the, "new fashioned" way.

Good to hear! cant wait to see the pictures. Between Matt, Chef and you... i'm glued to the forum.

Today I learned a ton about painting.

Make sure you stir the paint before you use the paint.

After I peeled of the tap and pushed her out into the sun I suddenly realized exactly why my fender are brown instead of Olive Leaf Green.

Anyways, with all that being said, and after yelling and screaming at the top of my lungs at myself, I couldn't be more happy with my LV. Finally I am finished with all the painting (until I repaint the fenders) and I am pretty happy with it. There are plenty of drips and sags, but she is painted.

Here are some pics of the finished product.

For the past couple days I was really scratching my head as to why my fender were brown. I had a strong feeling that Endura didn't screw it up, rather it was something I did. Again, I am still very happy with the paint and the color.

Last pic.

that looks awesome! Post more pictures!

That Is the best looking LV I've seen in a long time!

Thanks guys for all your compliments. We are pretty happy with it.

We arrived here in Oregon a couple days ago and yesterday got everything unpacked. I'm currently in the process of rebuilding the carb, but I think I have hit a snag. Also, there won't be too much work going into the LV since it is now snowing and I don't have a garage. Crazy to go from 60 deg. to snow in a matter of days. Couple trailer pics.

Also, I have purchased a set of 15'' rims and hub caps that I plan on installing. They should be arriving sometime in the next week or so.
