Put the 1/4's on. This has taken place over the past couple days. Much happier with the drivers side than the passenger side. But overall I think they are looking good. To speak the truth, my fears of not getting this truck put back together have calmed down. At least until it is time to paint. Anyways, here are a couple pics. Not sure how well you can tell, but on the pass side I will have to do more work to get everything evened out. The 1/4 hangs lower than the corner and the wheel well. Not sure what I should do, so I am in need of suggestions. Lower the corner and wheel well or raise the 1/4. I am confident that the ribs are in the correct spot. Only measured it like 1 million times before I welded.
Thanks for looking.

Keep up the good work, I look forward to this thread weekly!

It would have completely rusted out by now, and been trashed. Since they couldn't just go to the corner Cruiser rib store and pick up new ones, they had the rusted out stuff cut out and got it fixed as best they could. they loved that truck, it was their only vehicle for 15 years, and they owned it for almost 25. The only reason they had that work done was to be able to keep drivin it because it was, "a part of the family."
So, you say they neutered it, I say they saved it.....
I'm sorry if this makes me come off sounding like an ass, as I don't mean to. It's just that I've seen lots of those comments on the list, and it just feels like someone is giving Bill & Carol a slap every time I read one.

My wifes hates me, evertime she goes out back, for bringing that thing home. But if I had let it go out like that, Dave's truck would've been in a different way right now. You have no idea how happy it makes me to see them in place. Hell my wife was even stoked to see the pics.

Nice to see the fenders/hood off with the motor still intact... I need to drop a tractor band in one of these soon. the pictures helps see how it should all bolt up
gr8ful said:the orignal owner (Marty Frick) used to work at the NOAA (National Oceanic & Atmospheric reseach Assocaition) and Federal facility here in Boulder (unless Dave took the sticker off, it still has a parking/entry sticker from there on the truck. Bill (of Bill and Carol fame-- second owners and the people I got the truck from) is/was an economist at the facility and they bought it from him.
Just a little back history for Dave there. the truck is really looking awesome. I am amazed at how far you have come with it in so little time. I have also been really surprised at how much metal you have ended up needing to cut out of it. I always thought it had far less rust than it has turned out to have.
