We’ve completed a number of conversions in 60s using 1HZs, both turbo'd and naturally asperated. In the past we used to make the engine mounting brackets one at a time but at this point we've done enough of them and we have a few more lined up to justify making a few sets at a time. everytime we built the brackets we changed them a little bit and now we've finally come up with a design that we're happy with.
a local company is water-jet cutting the plates for us and form them on a cnc press. we weld the brackets so all that's left to do is to weld them to the frame and you're ready to drop the diesel engine in. the kit is designed to be used with the OEM toyota rubber insulators. OEM part number 12361-17020 and the cast iron 70-series engine brackets ( 12315-17020 and 12311-17020 ).
We have the welded bracket kits in stock as well as the rubber mounts.
i'll post more pics when we have them welded up and ready to ship.

The kit consists of both welded brackets, 2 new OEM engine mounts and the proper OEM hardware for $549.
The welded brackets by themselves are $400.
Shipping not included.

We also stock new OEM 70-series cast engine brackets and lots of other parts for this conversion, engines and cruisers in general.

Every 1HZ I've come across had the same brackets bolted to the block. I have 3 at the shop right now. Here's a couple of pics.

Do these work for all 1HZ's regardless of the year/type of Cruiser they came out of? I've wondered if there is a difference between the steel arms/mounts bolted to 1HZ block depending on if it came out of a 70 series vs 100 series, for example.

Toyota must have covered the extra distance between chassis rails by using different weld on brackets, but I dont think the chassis rails width varies a lot maybe an inch or 2

kits should be available early next week. i'll post more pics when we have them welded up and ready to ship.

This a really good idea as it takes one of the larger headaches out of 1HZ conversions to 60 series.
You may even get some orders from OZ;)

A complete conversion kit should be next :D

I'm glad you guys like the idea. We've been tinkering with these for a couple of years. I wish I had more time for projects like this cause I have "a few" more ideas that need to become reality.

Anyhow, we got the first set welded up today, getting shipped to Gary in VT tomorrow.

Very Nice....:beer::beer:

Built some many moons ago, they were bent in a press, kinda crude..

if anyone wants "core" 1HZ/1PZ (same engine mounts) i have found a few up here ...
ex mine engines, condition unknown (hell they might be good) ...
if there is interest i can do some more digging for info, might go good with these mounts.

Does the rear cross member end up in the factory location?
Yes.
The best way is to bolt the gearbox(with engine attached) to the crossmember and use that as a guide to locate the points where you weld the new brackets onto the chassis rails.

Ive never measured them ,but the 1HZ must be almost identical in length to the F engines when measured from fan to flywheel and rear of t/case

The H55F gearboxes are all in the same place although Ive heard the 3B gearboxes might be slightly clocked compared to the others

yeah, that was basically my question. I know that would work for a 12HT... and the 1HZ is nearly the same in dimension... so I imagine that would work.

it certainly worked for bolting the 1HZ into my BJ74.

yes, these mounts are designed to be used in conjunction with the oem rear cross member for the longer h42. however, you have to run a 1/4" spacer on the driver side of the trans mount ( between mount and x-member ) to get the engine to sit straight up and down in the chassis.

Georg,

Any chance of making these for a 40 series?

hmmmm, if we get one in the shop for that swap then we probably could. but i don't have one in the works. we are going to be dropping a 1HD-FT into a 45 very soon, but the mounts are different iirc.
