Already bought a turbo, but price tag is not going to be anywhere near $4,000 :o

I don't own a SC'ed 80 but did manage to have my butt spanked with another one that's loaded like yours with a SC so you should be good to go. It's about as PnP as you can hope to achieve.

Sliver star,
what did you mean when you said "but did manage to have my butt spanked with another one that's loaded like yours with a SC" on the highway, off road, climbing a hill on the highway? sounds to me like I should be thinking about going SC, like I said I don't plan on drag racing this rig, just want to have power on climbing hills on the highway driving to and from my expeditions when I am loaded down or towing a customized M1101 trailer.
So my next question for "all" is what should I do to prevent from blowing a head gasket. I am going to pull the engine from the LC that has 113K miles and install it in the LC that I am keeping. should I tare it down the motor to the head gasket and install a heavy duty head gasket, if their is such a gasket. since I have the motor out might as well do all I can before I drop it in the LC am keeping.
thank you all for your time and replies

what did that run you $$$? and dose it come as a kit? turbo looks like the most HP for the dollar.
looking that the list:
  1. Headers and Exhaust ~+20-30hp - ~$1,500-2,500
  2. TRD Supercharger ~+60-70hp - $3,500
  3. Junkyard motorswap ~varies hp - $2,000-5,000
  4. Turbo Setup ~+100-150hp - $4,000-7,000
  5. 2UZ-FE Swap ~+110hp - $14,000+

I'm not done yet, but total cost is going to tick in around the $1600 or $1800 mark would be my best guess at this point. It is not a kit, but also not too terribly hard to put together the parts yourself. The only real fabrication needed is for the exhaust downpipe and maybe attaching the blow-off valve to your charge pipes (depending on what parts you use). So if you can't weld, add maybe $200 for an exhaust shop to sort out that stuff for you. If you search good and hard, @scottryana has posted up the "formula" that I'm following. Try searching $2000 turbo or something along those lines.

Very cool someone is following the template and you have gotten some great deals. When you get closer you need to start a thread of your own :)
