I have been driving the 80 on local trips and some short highway runs. I noticed a slight leak around the oil cooler cover as well as a drop in my reservoir tank. I tried to tighten up the nuts for the cooler cover but that did not change anything. It's a very very slow leak that seems to evaporate on the block before reaching the floor.
I have ordered parts to service this cover and attached components. I opted to delete the ACSD nipple with a cover for different model. I will also remove the second ACSD nipple in the head and install an oem freeze plug.

It took 3 attempts to order this cover with every failed try I was told it was not available. Third try and it showed up.
This cover does not have the ACSD coolant port and freeze plugs on the bottom instead of removable drains.
As you can see in the next photo, I have presence of coolant at the top of cover/block interface. I looked at other locations including the new cap I installed when I removed the ACSD but don't see anything. I will look again just incase it's something else that I missed.

The only issue with using this cover on the earlier trucks is the lack of threaded boss for drain cock or temp switch.

But a drill press takes care of that easily.

I took a look at this detail before going this direction. I have a later production year 1HDT so the drain is on the block instead of the cooler and the temp sensor is in the pipe on top/front of motor going to radiator.

@OGBeno - This is the temp sensor you are talking about though, right? The new cover does have a threaded extrusion here. My original cover has a threaded plug. I think the part number for the plug is 90341-16094. Will know once I get it out. I added a photo of the pipe with dual temp ports. I believe one is for the rear A/C system and the other is the temp sensor earlier models had in the cooler as shown in first photo below (your photo).

Toyo Open Country MT 255/85R16 installed. I had very clean LX rims that I used and love the look. I am still looking for a clean LX rim to put on the tire carrier. If anyone has one, reach out!

Looks good. I have a '93 in the same colour.

I need to replace a couple of flares. Mine are black. A couple need some love and some paint.

Was contemplating a change charcoal grey.

Seeing your pics confirms charcoal grey will look good

I have ordered a Torqit exhaust a few weeks back but they have been having some delays after a couple welders left. Should be getting it soon.
I did ask about their loud/quiet options and they don’t have that today. Only one option exists. The company told me, they never had any options - every exhaust ships in same configuration. There were two part numbers but they said that was a technical glitch in their system. Both would get you the same exhaust.

My bad, that’s just what the salesman told me when I bought mine. Must have had bad info

I worked with Jimmy. Asked him about the difference and that’s what he said. Maybe there is more to the story - but I’ll be getting one like yours and Shauno’s!

I ordered one last week too. Who are you guys getting them thru?
Direct front Torqit. Who did you order through?

same. I tried going through a dealer(ToughGear Trading) in Canada but got radio silence after a few emails.
Contacted Torqit on IG and Jimmy reached out.

Nice, you guys will love it

I began working on gaining access to the oil cooler cover to replace the leaking gasket. I need to borrow/buy a pull/puller to push out the injection pump as the last step.
The injectors all came out via the twist method. None of the injector seats came out with the injectors. I will need to extract those.
I previously did a compression check but could not obtain cyl 2 because of the leak pipe in way of my pressure gauge . Before starting this job, I re-did the compression check with the leak pipe removed. The numbers came back much different (lower) than the first time around. Engine was warm to operating temperatures both checks. I am thinking this gauge from Harbor Freight is garbage. Engine starts on first crank every time.
I do suspect cylinder 2+3 may have bad valve seals as the glow plugs contained some oil and the exhaust contains some blue smoke at startup that clears up a couple minutes later.
My plan is to replace all valve seals with the head still on.
I have a new set of injectors that will go in and I am considering having the pump rebuilt while its out.

Here are the compression figures.
Test 1 was done at a different date than Test 2 and Test 2.1.
Test 2.1 was a repeat of 2.0 on same day.

Are you getting new injectors or just having them tested and serviced?

Did you ever get your exhaust?
I can't get an update and Jimmy quit responding to emails.
