A few updates on this 80.

- I have been driving it to work out any problems. Lots of power and smiles.

- Had a slow driver side (LH) window. Took apart the window motor and cleaned it. Cleaned the track and greased. Replaced the window runner and both inside/outside weather strips. Replaced the vapor barrier. Window now rolls up as expected. Will repeat on other windows to refresh them with new rubber.

- The front windshield wipers were slow. With limited time, I decided to replace the motor and linkage with new. While at it, I replaced the wiper arms, wipers, spray nozzles and tubing.

- Started to work on adding cruise control. Since my 80 with 1HDT and LHD is one of the later build years the wiring was a little different from others who have added cruise control. With wiring figured out I need to install the cables and test it. For this upgrade I required: cruise control ECU, brake switch with 4 contacts, cruise control actuator (from 3FE), cables, different steering wheel clam shell, and steering wheel controls.

- I had a leak from the rear heater hoses underneath the body. I replaced those with new Gates hose.

- Added a Wits' End fire extinguisher to the passenger side that I had laying around. Just in case.

Cruise control installed. The rusty brake pedal is from when the heater core was leaking. I need to pull it out and clean it up. Heater core has been fixed earlier in this thread.

I wish I had jumped on one of those fire extinguisher holders…..😩 doubtful if they will ever be available again.

I saw one pop up in the classifieds not long ago. Keep an eye out or put out a feeler.
I would love to get the one with a locking box

Will do, it looks like a nice piece of kit. Right now the fire extinguisher is sitting in the net on the back side of the passenger seat, easy to reach quick but not very secure.

Successfully added cruise control. Nice feature to have for longer drives.

Cruise control is active and my foot is off the pedal. The trim is out because I will be adding the Lutz Auto gauge soon.

I’ve been on the lookout for a used fender stateside but the prices are steep for a used part. I never liked the look of the snorkel and want to get rid of it.
I ended up getting a new Toyota fender. Will get it painted and install it.

I almost bought one from Amayama but the shipping was 3x the fender. Did you source yours from a dealer?
I tried multiple times and shipping kept changing. At first shipping to my door was 3x or more the cost of the part. The most promising was via sea but they wanted me to do all the import paperwork and get a broker.
Finally tried it one more time for delivery to door and the shipping cost was significantly lower - about the cost of the fender. They delivered!

No one seems to get how time intensive doing electrical work is when doing things like building harnesses, adding things and soldering and doing it correctly. It takes hours of meticulous work. Solid.

Agreed - It takes a lot of time to setup, costs of having correct tools, and knowledge of how to do it.

Oh man, yea I think I commented in this thread or his. I too ordered during Black Friday but got radio silence by March. Had to do a chargeback.
Bummer, seems like a really nice exhaust too. (I ended up with a LegendX from Superior Engineering)

Have you installed it? How do you like it?

Sorry to hear that man! I saw on FB one or two other people had issues around that time. I wonder if some employee dropped the ball. Glad you were able to get a LegendX though
