Someone told me to soak a rag in brake fluid and lay it on the bedliner.

I never tried it, but may work.

Guinea Pig????

I am so on the fence about going all in on body work and trying to get a nice shiny truck out of this.

I'm not knocking your project, man, so don't take this the wrong way, but don't see that happening and usually pics appear way better than things actually are.

Know the first and it's a very difficult job for a pro. Even then, bondo central and it can only go on so thick.

I said shiny, not straight or smooth! :flipoff2:

That's been a major part of my hesitation.

I'm sure once everything is a single color it will blend a bit, but having never worked with body filler I don't really know what to expect. I suspect "far from perfect, perfect from afar" may be a common theme.

I agree with Delancy. I have done lots of bodywork, and don't plan on making a straight car again with that much fab. Make is straight as you can with metal, throw on some cats hair on the bad parts, and bondo the rest. Mostaliner or Al's the whole thing and enjoy.

Not sure if I posted up pics on FOO build, but she was a pretty beat up on every panel. I spent an hour beating them out close, a quick layer of mud and sand with 36 and 80 grit, epoxy prime and then monstaliner. It was amazing how good it looked with that little work.

Think I'm gonna order the two gallon kit from monstaliner.

I'll do some basic filler work and roll the whole cab. Should look sharp and be nice and quiet inside, especially after the sound deadener.

I appreciate the sanity check fellas.

I kinda like the Mad Max look.

If you can't get a roller, you can burnish with a pipe too

I just bought a gallon of Al's Heat and Noise Reducer to spray down on the inside and top with Raptor. Anyone use it before instead of deadner?

I have a gallon of the same color I don't think I'll use I could sell to you. Pm me if interested.

Yes.... my rollers are "CRAP". But............ this morning I finally found a distributor that has a solid wooden roller!
The only rollers I could find were expensive, this one is still cost effective so I can include them with every order.

Iam sending you out one today! Let me know what you think. Thanks again for supporting us ih8mud vendors! -Mark

Don't press too hard - the little arms capturing the pin will spread and then the roller gets screwed. I also ended up using a glass jam jar to bunish mine on as it had a nice "soft" rounded corner where the bottom of the jar meets the side
